Halo 2 Soundtrack

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, and I'm also sorry if I shouldn't have maken a new thread (mods, if you must merge this, go ahead).

With that said, did anyone else by chance pick up the soundtrack to Halo 2? I have and I'm not regretting it one bit. Its by far one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard, and its for a lot of different artists on it too for a video game. Incubus, Hoobastank, Breaking Benjamin, and Nile Rodgers are among them, who all did songs ONLY FOR the soundtrack. Incubus even did the Halo hum in their first track on the cd!! Anyways, check it out everyone, you may just find a nice addition to your music collection. :D

Is this the score OST? I've got the score OST for Halo 1 but seriously want the OST for 2 as well.

Alongside the Metroid, Myst and MGS series the Halo series has some utterly fantastic music.

Yeah, I got this CD, good stuff. Damn good music. I need to play the game through in order to fully enjoy it though.

I like the orchestra score but not the bands featured on the soundtrack.

I just went and picked it up at EB when I got my copy of the game.

if by "hum" on the first track you mean the monk sounding thing, Incubus didnt do that, they did the one on track 5, the first track was done by a chorus.

I know. That's why I said -their- first track. :)

I think the Halo 2 music is great, but it seems only when playing the game. I have a copy of the Halo soundtrack and it's not as exciting to listen to and i can't really remember the tunes well enough when i'm not playing, like i can with other themes like Star Wars.
That said, Halo 2 would lose alot without the great music running along side it.

Are any of those tracks (or derivatives of) by Breaking Benjamin, Incubus, or Hoobasuck actually in the game??? Just wondering.

Jimellow 11-15-2004 02:34 PM

Are all of the tracks on this soundtrack played in the game?

I haven't touched the single player campaign yet, but I am listening to the soundtrack now, and I like it.

Um, I'm not sure about the others, but the Breaking Bengamin song (no vocals though, unfortunately), is in the game, and its a damn good level because of it. :)

DasMarklar 11-25-2004 09:50 PM

I'm pretty sure the underlying melody of the Incubus track is in the game, but I seem to remember talking with someone that it's been pretty altered (along with having the vocals removed).

So others would recommend the soundtrack? I haven't plopped down for it yet.

Bionic Monkey 11-26-2004 02:02 AM

I'd definately recommend it as well. The Hoobastank song leaves something to be desired, and one of the Incubus songs borrows very liberally from Pink Floyd (which isn't bad, just distracting). But other than that, it's a great buy.
