Hahaha, my little mnemonic device was a bit more rough--"ID Kill the Fucking Assholes".... Ahhh, what a great game. I can still remember how I used to love playing that last level of I believe the first episode, when you spawn into the room with the massive amounts of pig-beast looking things and barrels... Shoot a barrel, and BANG, they all go up in smoke. I used to cheat to get the BFG there and go at it...

I was always under the impression that the wolfenstein code was "MIL" as in military.

First thing to come to my mind: 19 65 9 17

I remember an old coin-op arcade game centered around Olympic sports. Many of the levels required fast tapping on the action button to gain running speed, for example. I saw someone use an electric toothbrush to break all the high scores.

I never realized how boring I was until now. Keys-Full-Ammo. Bah. I would much rather remember it as "kicks fucking ass" or "Kill the Fucking Assholes".

But I played Rise of the Triad before Doom.

The code that first springs to mind is the Sonic one where you entered an up down combo then you had access to later levels or something like that.

Then theres the GOD mode one in Doom which I cant remember at the moment

That one came to my mind too: UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, A + START

And also NCC-1701 for SWIV on the Amiga.

What was it that the Sonic cheat did in the end?

Anyone remember the old days of pokes?

Basically where you had to modifiy the code of old Spectrum/C64 games.

That is the "correct" mnemonic for that code. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I read an interview with John Carmack where he explained all the codes.
