Good GBA Game?
Hey guys, i've been trying to find a good GBA game but im at a loss.... anyone have any ideas?
I know I like RPGs and action adventure stuff, i don't really like tactics-style games, but im looking for something that can hold my attention for a while.... any help would be greatly appreciated. |
Golden Sun & exp. pack
Mega Man Zero 1-3 Metroid Fusion Metroid Zero Mission |
Lunar held my attention for a while. Its a decent rpg, if a bit simplistic.

Games I own and recomend
Golden Sun and sequel Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow Rayman 3 Advanced Wars Metroid Zero Mission Zelda - Link To The Past Super Mario Advanced 4 Wario Ware Inc. go to www.metacritic.com to find reviews of gameboy games and pratically anything else. |
Go for the classic NES games like Excitebike, Super Mario Bros. and the Legend of Zelda. Can't go wrong with those.

Too bad you don't like strategy games because Fire Emblem is the best GBA game I've ever played and definitely one of the best games I've played period on any system.
Other than Fire Emblem, Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero Mission are two excellent games. The Golden Sun games are awesome if you have the patience to play a true RPG on a handheld. -Lasereth |
Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow is indeed awesome, but a pain to find.. I ended up buying a copy off ebay for ~20$ for cartridge only and it still turned out to be a bootleg.
Advance Wars 2 is a tactics type game, but not in the same sense as Final Fantasy Tactics... It is more of a strategy war game... but since you are mainly for adventure types.. I would go for Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow or even Circle of the Moon. I havent played Harmony of Dissonance yet, but I have heard it isnt as good as Aria of Sorrow and not near as good. |
Lasereth- Funny, I picked up Fire Emblem and played through the main story, but it pretty much bored me, too easy, and the story was stale!
A vote for Golden Sun and its sequel, though, both wonderful RPG's that you can carry around in your backpack :) Castlevania Circle of the Moon and Harmony of Dissonance I've played, and found both very addictive. I would go with any of these.. |
of the three castlevania games for GBA, I liked Harmony of Dissonance the most, then Aria, then Circle.

Super Mario Bros Superstar Saga!
|
golden sun games
|
castlevania, supermario superstar sage, final fantasy tactics advance (fucking awesome)
|
Mario & Luigi. I put a good 40 hours on it and I still haven't done quite everything. Sure I beat the main storyline, but there are still side quests to be done!!

Fire Emblem |
I take my gameboy with me on trips, and my wife hates it and can't believe that I play it like so many little kids. I love it, though. I play the Lord of the rings return of the king. It's pretty much a Diablo type game, but finding new weapons make it playable long after you've beaten it once. The Madden 2005 game is pretty fun too, so long as you're not expecting it to be like other Madden versions.
Stay away from the new star wars game. It really sucks. |
Advance Wars, Golden Sun, Metroid, and Advance Wars 2 are all great.
|
ive heard good things about this astroboy game..check it out

All excellent suggestions. I've got two more for you though. Mario Golf Advanvce tour is excellent. It's done by the same guys who did the Golden Sun series and has a ton of depth, fun courses and great mini-game. Another good recent title is Grand Theft Auto Advance. Great for the on the go gangster!

Astro Boy and Guardian Heroes Advanced (Treasure rules)
Of course like everyone else mentioned the Golden Sun and castelvania series... (I liked Aria the best and Circle the least cause I hated the card system) |
fire emblem and mario & luigi
