Thome and Whocarz got it right. I really lamented the "shrink" from Daggerfall - Morrowind. You say in Arena you could travel the entire continent? That's crazy. I thought Daggerfall was staggeringly huge, albeit every dungeon was the same. As was every small town. But still, they were there! |

I downloaded from torrentspy a 20 minute video of GAMEPLAY that is apparently from this past E3.....WOOOOOOOOOW!!!
If you haven't seen this video, you should seriously check it out. It's absolutely amazing to see it all in action! (Not to mention the few issues I did notice, such as skipping every now and then, will surely be fixed between E3 and this winter's release)

This game alone may make me pick up an Xbox 360, unless the computer specs are something my machine can handle. I probably put over 300 hours total in Morrowind on my Xbox and later my computer. I could never get enough of that game, its like an MMORPG w/o all the assholes.

With how much the XBox 360 will cost, you could probably just as easily upgrade your computer instead

That game makes my PC cry.
I think I'm going to have to get it for xbox360. There is no way in hell my comp could handle it. BTW, anybody hear about it getting pushed back until december?

So has any one actually beaten Morrowind? I've played for countless hours and have gotten no where close. Granted I haven't played to just beat the game but, wow it's long. I hope to see the new game though. I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to play.

Well seeing as how I have recently come into an Xbox360 I am now once again EXTREMELY excited about playing this game. This is definitely the MUST HAVE on my list right now.

I've been a frequent visitor to the official elder scrolls forums for the past month. Here are some updates that I don't think have been posted here.
PC system requirements have been revealed: Recommended: * 3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor * 1 GB System RAM * ATI X800 series, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series, or higher video card Minimum System Requirements: * Windows XP * 512MB System RAM * 2 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor * 128MB Direct3D compatible video card * and DirectX 9.0 compatible driver; * 8x DVD-ROM drive * 4.6 GB free hard disk space * DirectX 9.0c (included) * DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card * Keyboard, Mouse Supported Video Card Chipsets: * ATI X1900 series * ATI X1800 series * ATI X1600 series * ATI X1300 series * ATI X850 series * ATI x800 series * ATI x700 series * ATI x600 series * ATI Radeon 9800 series * ATI Radeon 9700 series * ATI Radeon 9600 series * ATI Radeon 9500 series * NVIDIA GeForce 7800 series * NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series * NVIDIA GeForce 6600 series * NVIDIA GeForce 6200 series * NVIDIA GeForce FX series If you aren't too computer savvy, you can go to this web page, and it will scan your computer and make a list breaking down your different components, what meets specs, and what doesn't: http://www.srtest.com/referrer/srtest The trailer is up on Xbox Live Marketplace. It's the same trailer that's been around for a while, but seeing it in full-screen high def is nice. If you want any other information, such as interviews & previews, the forums at elderscrolls.com are a good source (though be warned people there are crazy). Also Planet Elder Scrolls is a decent place. You can google it. |

Personally I cannot wait for this game. It is definitely going to occupy me for a good chunk of time. I have been waiting for a good console RPG for a while now and the anticipation just keeps growing...

I don't know if I should get this for x360 or PC. I didn't like Morrowind on the Xbox because the controls were funky, especially since I had already played the PC version. The xbox 360 is more powerful than my PC though.. I think I'll wait a day or so until I find out if the xbox controls suffer. I'd rather lose a little image quality than have to do complicated shit with a controller that done much easier with a mouse and keyboard.

Actually, if Bethesda releases any patches, Xbox users can get them from Xbox Live. Also, there will be official downloadable content available on Live for Xboxers (PC users can get them too). So the only thing Xbox version is missing is the player-made mods & the Construction Set.
If you're wondering what the difference in visual quality will be, the developers keep saying that the PC version with max settings is equivalent to the 360 version. Of course, the PC version gives you a lot of options to tweak so you can get it running just right. As far as controls are concerned, I never played Morrowind on Xbox so I don't know what those were like. For the 360, I know you can assign up to 8 items or spells to the D-pad, so you can quickly switch weapons or spells or take a potion, etc. They've also said the controls will be fully mappable. You can even switch the function of the thumbsticks for the Lefties. Apparently there is going to be a huge media explosion on Oblivion at about 12:00am PST Feb. 25th. Evidently Bethesda had required a bunch of media not be released until that time. From what I've read on the official forums there should be new videos, screenshots, podcasts, etc. Here is the post on the official forum that has a bunch of links: http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/i...owtopic=244764 |

Those "recommended" system reqs are pretty damn high... but I guess that's normal, Morrowind had some pretty high reqs for it's time too. I'm more looking forward to bethesda's fallout game, personally, but from what I;ve seen of oblivion, it looks pretty good.

Oh, and I almost forgot the construction set. It's a must for anyone that wants to mod, whether it be a large scale mod they distribute, or just 1 item they make for their personal use, etc. I don't have the patience to learn how to make decent mods. Besides, I'll be too busy playin the game |
