bbbbbb555 Honestly i dropped the 49.95 on it the other day, and must say it was fun, but then i got to lvl 18, and well, I uninstalled it, Unlike other MMORPGS ALL you do in this game if fight, there is no crafting, harvesting, building and the such. (not to mention no PvP) Although i will wish you luck with it, but i shall not be going back to it, untill city of villains comes out and puts pvp in to the game, and i pray that it will have more than Just PVP.

Yup shadowalker nailed it on the head. I picked up up at launch and paid for 3 months.. so in a total of 4 months I grew very tired of it. Something about watching a level 5 enemy use my level 30 attack burns me. If you don't know what I mean just watch the 5th Collum guy with two chain guns, it's pretty much identical to the AR Blaster's Full Auto.
If the game had a sense of ownership, I'd still be playing it. That ability to own things is the only reason I kept playing SWG as long as I did. Maybe the next big game will offer me this. On a side note, most of the people I played with during launch still play. For a casual gamer I can see CoH being an extremely great game, but if you wanna go hardcore prepare to be bored outta your mind. |

I know what you are all saying, luckily i did not pay for the game, i play on my roomates account. it is fun for awhile, and i guess the city of villians will be out soon.
i think i will stick to tibia as the mmorpg that i play. the graphics suck, but there are tons of items and when you get strong you can kill a lot of low level people which is always fun. |

I play Maveric on the virtue server. The developers are constaly upgrading the game. The game is more about story arcs, accomplishments, and roleplaying rather than collecting uber loot. Unless you have played numerous characters or focused mainly on "story arcs" and instead opted for XP grinding or focused street hunting you'll miss alot of the cool features. allow me to provide some examples... I recently did a story arc where i'm fighting battling these undead zombies called Vahzilok (after Dr. Vahzilok, who appearantly is some kind of mad scientist) towards the end of the story arc I was (voluntarily) inflicted with a Vahzilok "wasting away" disease. I gave my avatar a green gas stench aura with flies buzzing all around me. I also slightly weakened my character's strength and stamina. I had to complete a mission to defeat Patient Zero and rescue the scientists who had a cure. At the end of the story arc I got to fight Dr. Vahzilok himself. Dr. Vahzilok wears a giant meat suit/ patchwork of zombie flesh. He looks like a giant zombie wearing a surgeon's mask and has a huge scapel attached to his arm... One mission, I got to test out an impulse guantlet (a temporary electrical ranged power) for one of my contacts (a scientist who was studing clockwork enemies). later in the Story Arc I went on to fight the archvillian - Clockwork King (a huge avatar, mech with a human brain). Ambush missions. Some missions, when selected will cause some enemies to spawn nearby and actually come after you! One mission I had to go undercover as a Freakshow (think of Mutant Punk Rock villians) and my avatar temporarily gained freakshow costume options/ powers. They have recently made the lower missions more distinct and graphic themed according to the enemy you are fighting. They have also added themed background noise as well. If you fight 5th column (nazis) then you usually fight in a warehouse bunker, if you fight hellions (thugs/satanists) the warehouse looks like it was converted into a satanist's ritualistic alter area, skulls look like goth/rave hideout, etc... I was on a few missions that had some weird "biohazard" generators in them. when destroyed they would grant random, ill or beneficial temporary powers. They have recently added a re-specialize trial (mission where you defend a huge generator from hordes and hordes and wave after wave of massive enemies) which allows you rechoose your primary/secondary subpowers and or replace power pool powers if successful. They recently added badges which are based on accomplishements in game. Collecting certain badges can grant your hero an accolade which is a permenant but minor bonus to your stats/powers. They recently added capes, which I could give a shit about but all you fuckin fanboys demanded it. I personally would have rather they opted for a dual pistol powerset. They are focusing on making the story arcs more interactive and interesting. They've added locked doors/ keys to the missions. They added disarm bomb missions that require two people to disarm two bombs at the same time. I know I'm forgetting more interesting story arcs and interactive features. Basically my point is this. City of Heroes is a game designed to live out your childhood superhero fantasies. You are a Superhero and the developers have designed a "comicbook" environment for you to roleplay in. It's not about crafting, looting, and being leet. It's all about the story. - Mav |

If you like the idea of mmorpgs, but hate the micromanagement part of most games in the genre you;ll love this game. ITs a blast, especially if you are a comic book fan. I've played other mmorpg games like DAOC, but this is the only one that I've actually stuck around playing for more than a month.
