I assume it's probably because they only updated the rosters, but I'm not sure because I haven't played 'em yet.

There are two reasons they dropped the price. One is to compete with EA Sports, and the second reason, is that they finally came to the conclusion that if they're going to be making a game every year, then they shouldn't charge $70 bucks (canadian) every year.

Crazy

It was so they would sell more than Madden and build a loyal fan base of the game. The games have been very close to equal in the past two years I think. I was very happy to pay $19.99 for my NFL game this year. Not much changes in these games, but it is more than just the roster. I think now, with the sports games the biggest things people gripe about is the repetition of the commentary. I think I'll go play some ESPN football now.

1.) They (Sega) wanted to take on Electronic Arts
2.) They formed a joint-publishing deal with Take Two Interactive's Global Star label to split publishing costs.
3.) They felt new sports games each year shouldn't cost $50.

They didn't just "update the rosters", they added the awesome "VIP" system (in ESPN NFL 2K5), which is a player profile that tracks your favorite plays, how often you run/pass the ball and where you throw/run it to the most, every stat you can possibly think of, and more. You can even play against your own VIP to learn your own strengths and weaknesses, you can also go online (via Xbox Live or through PlayStation 2) and download other player's VIP files and play against them offline to learn their strategies.

They also improved their Franchise mode, First Person Football, and the "Crib"

Basically, if you're a sports game fanatic, you owe it to yourself to try out Sega's 2K5 line of games.

The espn options are far better than madden's. I have not played Live 05 or nba2k5 yet. I haven't lived Live since 1995....when u could drop 60+ points with chris mullin.

20.00 is always a good deal. Its sad that other games aren't at that price
