star wars galaxy anyone but me playing it?
alright wasnt gona play this at all.. cuz of the no star ship but they are testing them now for an upcoming expansion.
a friend hooked me up with some stuff on the kettlemoor server.. been playing for a week. was gonna go bounty hunter but once i mastered marksman i came to realize.. why a bounty hunter is sweet dont get me wrong but they can only get bounty mission for npc toons in the game and player jedi.. and from what ive seen, a ranged shooter dosnt stand a chance in this game vs. a melee weilding son of a bitch. heh.. dont get me wrong its cool shooting, but most the stuff you fight closes in for up and personal combat with tooth, claw, melee weapon, tentacal..etc. im switching to master doctor and master pikeman eventually but this game is all about the "marco" like my medic skills my bud has a macro that lets me use my healing abilities that raises my experience in three of the skill trees and the fourth skill tree i use a macro to use craft kits to make pracitce items.. runs through 7 of them and repeats ..i do this when im waiting for a shuttle or such. master doctors on the server i play get 10k for doc buffs that last around 3 hours.. my char is te'nere if anyone plays let me know my group will see what we can do to help ya out.

I play on Wanderhome
I think the JTL will revitalize this game Doctors make decent money EXCEPT you gotta craft your own kits, which can be time consuming nad labor intensive ( finding the resources, buying them or mining them , etc) so you will need some money to startup. If you buy the kits to enhance (buff) then it will take a chunk outta potential profits, but it will be easier ![]() Im master Tera Kasi + Master Doctor - and I really only buff my friends and myself/guildies. Truth is , With so many buff bots in game ( people that run macros AFK to buff others for a price)- it isnt worth my time to buff others. If your wondering ranged Vs MEELE- it depends on what ranged you are- and also what you want to do? If you want to be good vs creatures go rifleman if you want to be good vs others- your right- most templates are meele ![]() Ill post more later but hope this helps. |

I played SWG from the day it (kinda) launched, till about Dec. Then picked it up again about 2 months ago. Now have just recently Quit again. The game has vastly improved since launch. But due to the fact that my poor computer can't run it anymore, i have to leave. The game does get vastly boreing, since there is never really anything to do. I always ended up hanging out at the cantina, or Med center. Just chattin with friends all doing the same. I have/Had a Mon Cal Pikeman/Ranger, I was a Master Doctor, but droped that as soon as i got it. I have been i pikeman since launch, i was totaly gimped for the whole time from launch till Dec. The reason i came back is cus i heard Pike was fixed, and it was true. But that wasn't even enough to keep me playing. Sorry about the ramble. . .
mmmmm, Potato Salad!

I tried the game and couldn't get into it. Too much of a grind I thought. Buffs I didn't understand. As a noob I never had more than a few k credits and people wanted an insane amount for buffs. I never saw low level characters giving low level buffs so I doubt they even exist.

I played from launch for around 6 months. I started off as a rifleman/architect as was enjoying myself until I started building big houses and would lose stupid amounts of ore on a failure. Then the whole Holocron telling you what to be just pissed me off, so I quit. SWG seemed more like a second job for me, so I moved on to CoH which I also tired of and quit. Maybe MMO's just aren't for me?

I played from launch until about... April(?). I jsut picked it up again about two weeks ago and am completely hooked all over again. It's a fun game with a good theme. If it feels like work (i've known people who've said that before) than you're playing it wrong... or at least that's my opinion (not trying to start a flame war). If you just enjoy it, go out and explore the planets, try the content missions... set some personal goals, like better and better times on the swoop race circuits, or crafting items above x stats, or gathering something or killing so many of something or getting some random faction above or below a certain level. I don't know, if I look at the game with less intensity, I enjoy it a lot more... there's actually a ton to do, with a lot of little quests and NPCs to talk to that nobody ever bothers with anymore.
Stay out of Coronet. Kor Vella is a neat little city. Sure, it's a starter town. Don't go there for combat xp. Still a cool town. Tyrena seems to have died down a lot, too. How sad! FYI, my character, Iwepa (Bria) has been a crafter since launch, Master Artisan/Weaponsmith/Merchant with some Armorsmithing and Droid Engineer in there at times. Since I picked the game back up (and only this one account, not my other two (a Bounty Hunter and a Bio-Engineer/Ranger)) she's started to move towards combat more. Maybe BH. Who knows! |

I was in beta for a long time and i played it for 2 months after release. Living in Europe it cost me a fortune ( Beta also ) but i chose to quit after that short'ish period.
SWG is the biggest game related disapointment of my life. It had so many things in its favor and they still managed to bungle it up badly. I blame the Sony Suits. Give it 3-5 years and it will probably be great. And then again...i hear Jedi are getting somewhat common. Big mistake imo. |

Sony didn't do the Star Wars galaxy justice in this game. I played it all last summer, then quit cause I wasn't getting enough satisfaction for my money.
The main problem for me? SCENERY! All the towns were organized by what seemed to be a pedestrian focus. What? That doesn't make any sense!! Did everyone in this galaxy swear off mechanical transportation? And where are the ROADS!?! even if you have to run somewhere, you still would think that there would be a road to follow! I feel like the game did well in a lot of aspects, the inter-player exchange was a very good try, making us go to other players for our clothing or healing needs. The combat was fun, if not very believable. It just wasn't beleivable. Maybe I should just stick to normal RPGs, without the Mmmmoooo. I think tabletop RPGs have ruined my taste for Multiplayer gaming. |

I'll say this. With the combat revamp coming after JTL- I think this game might finally leave the beta stage. At the moment all the love is going to Jedis- and so the balance is horrible. Rampart duping and slice tricks screwed up the encomies on some servers (bloodfin heh).

slicing is aparently fixed, so that shouldnt be a problem
Im on intripid, and have been playing for just over a year. Its true there is a lack of things to do...you just gotta do stuff yourself. iv unlocked my forcesensitive part in the new system, but the sheer amount of xp required to level up in any of the force skills...is awful. why didn't they make it a more difficult quest system. rather than promoting people to mindlessly camp in high spawn areas and afk kill things. |

I played it for a while earlier this year and had a Zabrak that was almost Master Bounty Hunter. I would have finished it but doing investigation just became a grind. Because of the insane time between shuttles and the amount of planet hopping that it takes to do BH missions it could take up to an hour just to get to my mark for a battle that would last 15 seconds. I also got tired of seeing people propose great ways to improve classes, only to have Sony ignore them or implement a bunch of "fixes" that no one asked for or wanted. Needless to say I haven't touched the game in months and don't plan on going back to it.

I play on Intrepid as Gremlar. If you played the game long ago and havent touched it since it might be a good time to try it again. They have fixed/improved alot of things and most of it makes the game more enjoyable. For example, the shuttle times are now down to 5 mins. So the planet hopping doesnt take as long as it used to.
If you are getting bored with the game then join a guild, and then go to the DWB, the Geo Caves, or the Corvette and try to run through them. Or try joining a faction and declaring yourself overt. See how long you can stay alive. Or you can try roleplaying the entire game, that in itself is an adventure. On Intrepid we have the GroveFest which is an entirely player run event that takes place every few months and is GREAT fun. Han Solo came to visit us at the party in August and then was chased out by a squad of StormTroopers who locked down the city... good times I tell you. There is alot to do in this game if you are just willing to look for it. Theme parks, player events, assorted quests, and just POI's can be fun. The game is as fun as you make it... I have played the entire time on Intrepid and would never think about joining another server. It just wouldnt be home. Also 3 notes about the game... 1)the combat revamp was supposed to be rolled out last February... dont hold your breath for it. 2) it is RUMORED that Lucas Arts will be taking over how the game is run and SUPPOSEDLY might be getting rid of SOE. Or atleast they are looking for a head dev on the LA boards. 3) LA never wanted to have Jedi easily accessible if even in the game at all.

Also use to play on Wanderhome, Master TK, Fencer, Swordsmen, Wookiee. And i agree that with all the jedi and padawans running around now the game is screwed. EVERYONE at one point will be a jedi of some lvl and have an alt as somethign else. The game would have been great without the addition of Jedi class (IMO). When i got banned for telling a csr to leave me the fuck alone and go bug someone that is really breaking the rules I got my self a permaban. *i was using my swords area attack in the geo caves and was reported for exploiting* All in all i loved the game, and sad to say it was great up intill the frist jedi was active.

I played SWG, I got bored with it. This game have zero content, hey is what most people do. Go to mission terminal get two missions you know you can beat, go destroy them, go back get a new set of missions. It's a hard grind and i got tired of it. The funny thing is I got into JTLS even though I cancelled my account, so I decided to try it out. I paid $15 to open the account again, installed JTLS, play it, hated, uninstalled all of it, and felt ripped off. Well it doesn't matter anyway Im waiting for Matrix online and WoW.

I played for quite a while on the Starsider server...
I unlocked my Jedi, but it was just a long, horrible, retarded grind, so then I quit. After the Jedi revamp, I went back to see what it was about. It was actually done fairly well, but then they started nerfing Jedi powers and making Jedi far, far to common, so my account went to Ebay ![]()

Itachi-
Matrix Online appears already to be the biggest waste of an MMO ever, possibly worse than Planetside. Just a head's up. WoW should be awesome (the beta was quite impressive) and even Everquest II looks to really be a big step forward in MMOs. I think I'll stick with my beloved SWG though. *sigh* |

Whats so great about it Xepherys. Why do you like it so much. Well anyway Matrix online is going to be cool because you can explore all the rooms in the city if you wanted to and have great PvP in it to. And about Everquest 2, well from what I've heard the graphics are good, but it's gamesplay is bad. ANyways I would have to upgrade my PC just to handle the graphics it has.

I've been playing since release,if you want to be a jedi you better be a power gamer, Content is ok but getting dull, you can only add so many "dungeons". PvP sucks and has for a while now, waiting to see how jtl is if its cool I'll stay if not gonna try wow or something.

I was in and on Wanderhome as Achernar D'Ni for about six months, I think.
I left when they made the Jedi system into the now-infamous "Holocron grind." It was such a horrible game design system that my entire guild up and quit the game. It just wasn't fun anymore, and no one wanted to do anything together at all - they just wanted to work on their professions needed to unlock the FS slot. Sucks. I'm moving to WoW, but I wish Galaxies had been able to be more than it ended up being. |

I've been playing SWG for 10 months now and I love it. I'm a Jedi and my alt is a merchant and crafter on the Corbantis server. The game has gotten better with every upgrade and expansion, the new Trials of Obi-Wan expansion looks cool and they are giving you some cool extras with it if you pre-order which I am going to do this week. The PVP is great in the game too and the jedi ranking system is baised on PVP.
