Best Final Fantasy?

Best Final Fantasy game ever?

I'd personally say 3/6 or 7.

I'm too lazy to check, but there's probably a thread on this already. I don't care, this is a good topic.

My favorites are Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy X, hands down.

I seem to remember throwing my bid in on this conversation once before as well, but I'll say it again. In my opinion, Final Fantasy 6 is still my favorite game of all time. That is all.

Since, I've only played FFX and FFX-2 I would have to say hands down FFX.

But depending on which get the most votes on here I will be playing that next.

whichever game was ff3 for the snes here in the states. ff7 was outstanding... but i haven't liked any since then. ffX was just a long cinematic for me, i have no patience for that.

While some of the others have better battle/character systems, I like FF7's story line the best by far.

7 has one of the greatest stories of all time, including books and whatever. The Materia system and the game's importance as an innovation at the time makes it the best, in my opinion.

I gotta go with three. It was a killer for me in two ways, the first, it was just a great games. The second, well you remember that martial arts guy that fought empty handed? Well I had a pair of nunchuku in his hand for most of the game. I built up his stats but couldn't get decent damage out of him...when suddenly...I made him empty-handed and threw up over fifty percent more damage than my other characters. It was a stupid, cool moment.

VII, easily. It's one of the very few rpgs that I've played through more than once. (Starts thinking about whether or not to start another game...)

FF rules the SNES. FF 2 and 3 (aka 4 and 6...) are the best of the bunch. The PS games were just pretty but shallow.
I've played them all but X.

Final Fantasy 6 was the best FF I've ever played, but, FF7 came really close, IMO. 8's plot was too linear and predictable, 9 was okay, I liked the return to basics idea, with the classes (eliminating materia and junctions), and 10 definetely had it's place, both in story and graphics (the graphics being the best, but the storyline suffers the same problems as 8's - though I admit the ending was interesting) X-2 easily grabs the worst spot. I've never played 11, and I hope to God 12 doesn't follow X-2.

I actually liked X-2 better than X, though I don't know that I could explain why (I think it's because Tidus was a dork...)

Shallow? Did you play the same ones as me? I've played the earlier FF's as well, and the PS counterparts are at least as deep as the old ones if not more deep. There was an endless amount of stuff to do in FFVII especially.

I love FF6 and FF7 equally.

One thing I notices most of the people who picked FF6 always seems to hate FF7 + ..... well not this thread anyway. In other messageboards that I go to people always bash FF7. Probably because it wasn't on a nintendo system maybe?

Yeah I noticed this a long time ago too. Personally, I've played FF1, FF5, FF6, FF7, FF8, and FF11 (online), and although they each had their own disappointments (1-6=graphics, 7=certain glitches, 8=way too futuristic, 11=Using the Anarchy Online engine), I truly enjoyed them all. When I say FF6 is the best, I don't mean all of the others suck; it's just the one I enjoyed most out of all of them.

6/7 I'd lean a little towards 7 though. I really liked the futuristic yet at the same time simple time theme in 7. There's just something about seeing midgar. 6 had some really awesome moments and I liked how you would have seperate stories going on that would converge. However, I'd still go with 7.

VII was definitely my favorite. Great characters, great storyline, and great graphics for its time. What I played of X was good too - unfortunately my PS2 crapped out before I could finish the game and I didn't have the money to replace the system.

Final Fantasy (1) for the NES was my favorite for sure.

a) Sure the graphics were lame... it was an 8-bit game from back in the day.

b) Without it's success, we surely would not have seen X and Tactics and Online.

c) It was just such a cool game. It kicked Dragon Warrior's ass for sure.

Final Fantasy 3 is my favourite FF series by far. Normally, I don't recommend games to people, but this is one of the few that I used to (and still do!). The story was had depth, and was hilarious at times to boot. In summary, () just play it and you'll see what I mean.
