Best Final Fantasy?
Best Final Fantasy game ever?
I'd personally say 3/6 or 7. |
I'm too lazy to check, but there's probably a thread on this already. I don't care, this is a good topic. :)
My favorites are Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy X, hands down. -Lasereth |
Final Fantasy Tactics for the PS1 is awesome. One of my favorites easily.
|
I seem to remember throwing my bid in on this conversation once before as well, but I'll say it again. In my opinion, Final Fantasy 6 is still my favorite game of all time. That is all.
|
Since, I've only played FFX and FFX-2 I would have to say hands down FFX.
But depending on which get the most votes on here I will be playing that next. |
whichever game was ff3 for the snes here in the states. ff7 was outstanding... but i haven't liked any since then. ffX was just a long cinematic for me, i have no patience for that.
|
FF6 all the way.
|
While some of the others have better battle/character systems, I like FF7's story line the best by far.
|
damn, I cannot decide between 4, 7 and tactics. I love those three games.
|
7 has one of the greatest stories of all time, including books and whatever. The Materia system and the game's importance as an innovation at the time makes it the best, in my opinion.
|
In order, Tactics, FFXI, and FFVII...
|
I'd say 7, then X, then 9... 8 and X2 sucked and the older ones I don't really remember
|
How can some of you decide between 7 and Tactics?
They're both so PERFECT! sigh... I pick Tactics. |
Tactics was very VERY enjoyable, but it was too reminiscent of this game I played called Vandal Hearts (which is another amazing Tactical RPG).
|
My favourite is VIII....amazing characters, story and music
|
I gotta go with three. It was a killer for me in two ways, the first, it was just a great games. The second, well you remember that martial arts guy that fought empty handed? Well I had a pair of nunchuku in his hand for most of the game. I built up his stats but couldn't get decent damage out of him...when suddenly...I made him empty-handed and threw up over fifty percent more damage than my other characters. It was a stupid, cool moment.
|
Using the north american numbering system here...
I would say 3 is my fav, with 2 & 7 very close behind. |
FF 7 for its great characters and story.
FF 10 for its unbelievable graphics and SHIVA...*drool |
VIII was my first FF game but I enjoyed VII the most. It had my favourite story and villain. I haven't completely finished VI yet btw.
|
7 no contest heh
|
I like 3 the best of the ones i have played, but I also really enjoy 10.
|
VII, easily. It's one of the very few rpgs that I've played through more than once. (Starts thinking about whether or not to start another game...)
|
FF rules the SNES. FF 2 and 3 (aka 4 and 6...) are the best of the bunch. The PS games were just pretty but shallow.
I've played them all but X. |
Final Fantasy 6 was the best FF I've ever played, but, FF7 came really close, IMO. 8's plot was too linear and predictable, 9 was okay, I liked the return to basics idea, with the classes (eliminating materia and junctions), and 10 definetely had it's place, both in story and graphics (the graphics being the best, but the storyline suffers the same problems as 8's - though I admit the ending was interesting) X-2 easily grabs the worst spot. I've never played 11, and I hope to God 12 doesn't follow X-2.
|
I actually liked X-2 better than X, though I don't know that I could explain why (I think it's because Tidus was a dork...)
|
Final Fantasy 7 by a huge chunk

No contest, the North American FF2 and FFIX are my two fav's.
|
I love FF6 and FF7 equally.
One thing I notices most of the people who picked FF6 always seems to hate FF7 + ..... well not this thread anyway. In other messageboards that I go to people always bash FF7. Probably because it wasn't on a nintendo system maybe? |

X made me the happiest out of them all
|
Final Fantasy 6
Dont Fuck wuth GoGo!!! |
1 3/6. Legends II for game boy. All great games
|
6/7 I'd lean a little towards 7 though. I really liked the futuristic yet at the same time simple time theme in 7. There's just something about seeing midgar. 6 had some really awesome moments and I liked how you would have seperate stories going on that would converge. However, I'd still go with 7.
|
VII was definitely my favorite. Great characters, great storyline, and great graphics for its time. What I played of X was good too - unfortunately my PS2 crapped out before I could finish the game and I didn't have the money to replace the system.
|
Anyone play FF Tactics Advance for the GBA? I just bought it and so far it seems pretty cool, though i don't like that you can't walk around anywhere, you just click from place to place
|
Big FF7 fan, still can't get over the death of a certain character.
|
Final Fantasy (1) for the NES was my favorite for sure.
a) Sure the graphics were lame... it was an 8-bit game from back in the day. b) Without it's success, we surely would not have seen X and Tactics and Online. c) It was just such a cool game. It kicked Dragon Warrior's ass for sure. |
i have to say also say 3/6 that story was well done i think
i did not really like 7 though |
Final Fantasy 3 is my favourite FF series by far. Normally, I don't recommend games to people, but this is one of the few that I used to (and still do!). The story was had depth, and was hilarious at times to boot. In summary, (:D) just play it and you'll see what I mean.
|
..hmm...so no one likes nine huh?
i liked 7 and 9. |
final fantasy sucks
Final Fantasy sucks, If I wanted to watch a movie, I'd go to the movie theatre.

Rule of thumb for any type of game: Just because you suck at it doesn't mean it sucks. :hmm: |
I'm currently playing FF8. When i bought it new I played about 20 hours and I'm returning to it having forgotten everything about the story-so-far.
The part I'm playing now keeps switching between dream sequences and reality. I haven't a fucking clue what's going on. I doubt it can live up to the legendary FF7 though. |
I wouldnt say I have a favorite, but FF7 had by far the most to do.
The side games were incredible.Doing a battle tournament for materia,Raising chocobos and racing them...I spent alot of time building up my characters and maxing them out. FFX was great too,the ultimate weapons quests could be annoying (hi lulu) but once you finished them,it was rewarding. Also liked 4 (obviously from the avatar) because Cecil and Kain were badasses. Every FF game was great(exluding the mmorpg  ) but those 3 stick out. |
Its a toss up between IV and VI.... I would say IV but VI was such a great game. Damn general Leo rumors..... played the game for 99:99 and over trying to revive him haha
|
I liked 9 the most.
|
3/6 and 7 were great. will be hard to top those in my book.
|
4, 7, and 9
(I'd say 11, but I dunno if that counts.. it is addicting as hell) |
even with all the new ff's out there, i have to default back to the orginal final fantasy released here in the us market, Need money to go buy that nice sword in the weapons shop, Head out a kill a goldmen, or silvermen. Its the finalfantasy that started them all.

the story just hits all aspects and emotions but the good news is they are releasing it for the nintendo ds i must get that version hehe :D |
7 or tactics :)
|
FFX or tactics, still got to play FFX-2
Don't know about FFXI, you have to pay, screw that I'm not paying anymore for a game. |

|
I'd say FFVI or either of the tactics games (but I don't really consider the tactics games af FF, they are more like ogre battle and tactics ogre)
|
Of the ones I've played I'm going to have to go with Final Fantasy VII.
Loved that game. |
Final Fantasy 7. Story was fantastic
SPOILER When Aeris dies, I about fell off my chair |
i was a big fan of CC
that was good fun |
Definetly 3/6
For the time amazing graphics Unbelievable ingame soundtrack A truly evil bad guy Epic storyline |
i'm having a pretty tough time deciding. I loved FF3 on the snes, but i think i spent the most time out of any give I've ever played on FF7, so FF7 i guess.
|
I think Final Fantasy 2/4 was the best. I thought the story was great with you starting out as a Dark Knight and then becoming a Paladin. And you best friend Kain gets brainwashed into fighting you. Then you find out your Archenemy is really your brother which was cool to me at the time. It had alot of character development and a good story to boot. I haven't played all the Final Fantasy's mad but that one always comes to mind when I think of Final Fantasy.

It's far too late for that now. I'm at the part just just after you crash into the other Garden and I'm about to go and kick Seifer in the balls.
*Side note* I've had a few phone calls and text messages recently asking if I'm o.k. I didn't realise I'd hardly left the house in the last three weeks. |
Best final fantasy has to be either Tactics or 3. Tactics is an amazing game though. Never ever get tired of playing it. SO many ways to make ur characters
|
tactics Advanced is better
cause you can take it with you ;) |
Crystal Chronicles was by far the best!
/sarcasm off I never got around to getting a playstation, so of my experience with one SNES FF game, Crystal Chronicles, and the original for NES... I'm gonna have to go with the original. Great game. |

true i have not finished ttadvanced yet but the tactic's story got me hooked |
Final Fantasy 3, then tactics, then IX.
Seven is great, but I just really didn't like many of the characters. Three has so many it's hard not to find one you like. Nine sucked me in. Gotta love the amount of cut scenes in Tactics when someone stabbed and betrayed someone else. |

I like ffVII, the materia system will allow you to power game chars in ways never before seen in the ff series. ffX was also a great game, you can make chars ungodly wrong if you are willing to invest massive amounts of time in manipulating the sphere grid. As far as the story goes, ffVII has the best. |
FF 6, 7, Tactics are all tied for first
8, tactics advanced, and 9 for second then 10 in a distant third The other ones are good, but the innovation of 6 7 and tactics are amazing did any one play Ogre Tactics? I remember spending weeks playing that game for the SNES EDIT: BTW where did you get that awesome comic?!!!? |
3/6, and 7
|
FF6, there really is no contest here.
|
though i think the graphics for ff8 were brilliant i have to go for ff7 as my favourite, though ive enjoyed all the ff games the early ones i found were to slow for me, saying that on ff7 i still have not managed to work out how to breed the chocobos i,ve caught a few but cant get them to the farm.
any whisperings of another ff yet |
I enjoyed a lot 7 and 10, i completed them all form 7 to X-2 and those are the ones i enjoyed the most :)
Of course there all great games :D |
i loved number 2
|
III or VII.. definately the best ones

I'm sure some criticism will ensue, but I like Final Fantasy VIII the most. To me VII was pretty boring. Second best is IX. Followed by III, X, V, IV, and X-2. I've yet to force myself through I and II.
