The Sims 2 sells 1 million copies sold in 10 days

All I can say is... woah !

Quote:
Biggest PC launch in EA history; 1 million copies sold in 10 days.

File this one under "the rich get richer." Electronic Arts announced today that The Sims 2 has sold more than 1 million copies at retail stores worldwide in its first 10 days on the shelves, making it the biggest PC title launch in the company's 22 years.

"The Sims franchise has become a cultural phenomenon and The Sims 2 is a game that changes the way we think about our industry," Frank Gibeau, senior VP of marketing for EA, said in a statement released today. Gibeau went on to comment that of the 1 million units sold, more than 50 percent of those were sold in Europe.

It's like crack but it's going aside for Rome: TW. For now. Most of the time. Really. No, really.

It's hard to say. I would probably just stick with the "you're either gonna love it or hate it" crowd on the gameplay.

I constantly tell people it is a little creepy.

Just like Sims 1 after a few hours.....it gets really boring. Doing the same thing over and over again isnt fun.

I played a friend's copy and spent more time designing and decorating the house than actually playing. Creating a sim is fun, but I after the first week or so (game time, not actual time) I get bored a start building another house.

I'd love to hear from those who actually play the game and the reasons why.

well lately I've just been trapping people in my house, or making them go insane then turning them loose in the neighbourhood... its good for a few laughs when you invite someone over and they start dancing around with a mop.

I play it to waste time. I need to jump from 2:00 to 5:00? Fire up the Sims. Although correctly calculating the time is hard and I sometimes overshoot the time I spend playing it.

I need to pick this game up, but sadly right now I'm poor. So it's gonna have to wait a week or two.

I installed, and played Sims 2 for about eight hours straight without blinking. I havn't played it since then, there isn't enough difference from the first game here to make me want to play it again.

And you can tell that there will be many expansions, since it seems to be lacking in the number and variety of items.

The thing about Sims 2, is you don't HAVE to do the same thing over and over. You can force your sims into wacky situations and get a lot of good laughs out of it.

I got bored with the Sims. After a few hours, it just got boring. That and I couldn't stand the fact that time moves in such a fucked up way. One second of real time = one minute in the game. Yet, you're still performing normal functions and routines at a real time pace. I never had time to do anything. It always took two hours to take a piss! I got frustrated with it.

1 million in 10 days... that just boggles the mind. Simply incredible. I'm probably going to have to get my sister to lend me her version if this one is as good as what everyone says.

i maxed out my stats so now i am just messing around. i built rooms in the basement with everything a person needs to survive. i invited four lovers to move in and i locked them all in the basement with the men only door. i can go in and out but they cant. pretty damn funny. my man had a night of woo-hoo-ing. if i was a romance sim this would be a dream but since i am a knowledge sim im thinking of letting them go. because for some reason, even though they were in separate rooms they still found out about each other.
