Female Sims 2 impressions needed!!!

So what is the verdict? A friend and I were talking at lunch about this and it sparked my interest. With some of the goals involving having Woo hoo with multiple Sims is it just as funny on the flip side, amoung all the other funny stuff. Discuss.

Just like in real life, you have to be careful about fooling around on the ones that love you. You can makeout and flirt as much as you wish without anyone getting jealous as long as they're not in the same room, just don't make them "woohoo" unless your loved ones are off the property. They can hear that shit a mile away.

geez, think about what we're doing to the next generation of teens.

Warning: rant about moral effects of video games ahead

We've got an extremely popular game out that has some of the wants of the characters including cheating on their spouse? There are already enough misconceptions being spread around about this kind of shit(stuff like it's not cheating if your not in the same state or that kind of crap) without telling the younger teens and preteens that it's ok to cheat so long as your SO is not at home.

The game would be just as good if they had left that out. Or at least just take it one step further and make an 18+ version of the game where there are no blurs and whoo hoo is more than just a fireworks display.

Sorry, just felt an obligation to say something.

And just to clarify, I am all about the first amendment and fully support Maxis's right to produce this game as it is, I just feel I need to state my opinion on the content.

Good point. But it's is the parents job to teach the youth not the sims. I do agree with you in a way but the back of the box does say....Crude Humor, Sexual themes, and Violence. So in away EA and Maxis did there part.

I totally agree with you, but in case you haven't noticed many parents are no longer doing their job and rely on other sources of input to raise their kids.
The warning does nothing to prevent little Johnny from getting the game at the mall after his mommy drops him off to hang out with his friends.
I'm just saying that maybe they should have broken the game into two versions, one for, oh say, 17 and under and one for 18+. Then they could charge an extra ten bucks for the 18+ version and make more money.

I know that underage kids would still manage to get ahold of the 18+ version, but usually the kids who can do that are 15 and older, and it stops the average youngster from just being able to walk in the store and buy it.

As I said before I totally support EA(sorry I left EA out in the first post) and Maxis' right to put whatever content in the game as they please(so long as it's legal and not kiddy porn or something).

Oh and as for the game itself, I got it for my girlfriend(oops! see previous posts), and she's been playing it almost nonstop.

Why should a "Woohoo" version cost less than a "sex" version? The game never says it's alright to cheat as long as your wife/husband isn't in the building, The game won't flirt and woohoo on it's own, All the game does is give all the options available to the sim and it's up to him/her to make the right decision, and if you're caught then you face the consequences. At least there are consequences. The only thing that makes having multiple partners wrong is our society.

The game is rated Teen for a reason, Think of it as PG-13 movie rating, I've seen worse PG rated movies.

That doesn't make any sense. Maxis would have to develop two separate products. Two different marketing campaigns, two different development cycles, some stores wouldn't carry the adult version...

If anyone is getting any of the direction of their moral compass from a video game then it is already too late. If one doesn't already know by the time they get married (or of an age where you could get married) that marital infidelity is not a good thing...well, then the trouble has just begun. I can see more sense in the worry over GTA style violence, but even then I think the impact is more related to poor parenting. I don't think any kid thought that "kill all the Haitians", the controversial out-of-context quote from GTA:VC, was a good idea. If I was Haitan I would have been more ticked off at being one of the stereotyped crime gangs rather than that stupid quote. Sure, we can find incidents where kids commited acts of violence and/or stupidity after seeing them presented elsewhere, but this has been happening for a long time. My grandfathers brother almost cut grandpa's head off with an axe playing soldiers during WWI. My Mom and her friends jumped off a roof onto a mattress using an umbrella as a "parachute" after seeing a movie in the 1940's about US Army paratroopers. My friends and I used a concrete blocks to build a tottering "cave" after seeing the first Indiana Jones movies, we were lucky it didn't come down on our heads.

The Sims is a life simulator and I applaud the realism. It's unfortunate but true that 1 in 5 first marriages will end in divorce. It's also unfortunate but true that marital infidelity is a serious issue in relationships today (what remains to be seen is to what extent. the numbers are all over the place). I'd be more worried about the role models whose public examination of infidelity has brought the spotlight on the issue. Bill Clinton, Rudy Guiliani, Kobe Bryant and Prince Charles to name a few.
