Neverwinter Nights 2

I'm already bursting with anticipation. Neverwinter Nights totally owned my soul so I'm sure NWN2 will not only own my soul, but sell it for crack.

Unfortunately looks like I have to wait a few years...

yep - as long as it doesn't disappoint like Dungeon Siege - Legends of Aranna.

Only problem with sequels is when they don't live up to the original.

edit: I watched the interview with one of the developers (downloaded) from gamespy - quite interesting, the background of the whole dev team. They are just rpg nerds

Sometime during 2006. That's a hefty development cycle, and I hope they use their time wisely. It should be a great game.

I'm excited about this one also but agree with Scipio that they use their time wisely. A game like this can go so wrong with a new team and a bad plan. On a side note..I just beat ass through HoU as a paladin..holy crap was it fun just to go out and kick ass with the Holy Avenger.

I picked the RDD myself for my first try, and meh. It's OK, but wish I could use the breath weapon more than just once a day!

I'm still working on the first one myself, but I'm liking it so far. If the second one is as good I'll definitely pick it up. As has been said before though, I hope they use thier time wisely.

Couldn't be more excited 'bout it myself. I have played NWN since it first came out, and it is the ONLY game worth playing IMO.

The development teams looks really good too. Most of them (or at least the core) are the reminants of Black Isle Studios, the brains behind BG and BG-II. Check the NWVault for updates regularly.

It will only live up to the first if it includes a toolset and DM Client like NWN. I only play Multiplayer and DMed games. Adds a whole new dimension to the game.

If you haven't tried MP or DMed games with NWN yet, then you certainly should. Check out Neverwinter Connections for a game in your timezone: http://neverwinterconnections.com.

NWC is hosting an upcoming Online Convention called NWCon 2.5. It is scheduled for the last weekend of September. There will be IRC chats, In-Game seminars and a whole boat-load of open and application DMed games. Check it out if you have nothing better to do... hell, take time off of work for it. I am!

I will now investigate this further, I loved Baldur's Gate, it's the only game I've enthusiastically played through multiple times.
