Lineage II - reality TV - ?

Is this game as good as it looks? Anyone played or tried?
I've downed a couple of those presentation videos that they have on the Lineage 2 site, and I must admit it looks pretty damn convincing.

BUT is it just good PR-work or does the system really work that well?
Can u really kind of get the kind of feeling that you have a home castle where you live in with other players that you want to protect etc..

How wonderful games you could make based on that idea... Littel bit of Sims and a lot of rumble too... Life. Don't know if this Lineage 2 goes that far...

Anyone?

I played the beta, and the game was pretty much boring. I think there are a lot of other threads about this if you want to do a search.

yes I did a search and found more stuff about Lineage 1. The general stuff..
Maybe the best way to find out would be to just try it.
(if the beta is any good)

Do you know if the Beta (or a demo) is still available somewhere?
'Cause I tried looking but for example from Fileplanet the link doesn't seem to work.

I played it. Is it addicting? Of course...most MMORPG's are. The character models look REALLY good as well as the environments. The environments could definitely be more detailed though. The ONLY thing to do in the game is level up basically. There are a few quests, but they're not engaging at all. In order to get a castle, you have to be a guild leader, and thousands (literally) of hours must be played to get your guild strong enough to claim a castle. The guild leader has to make a lot of in-game (and out of game) sacrifices in order to get a dragon and a castle. It's ridiculous how taxing it is to do some of the features in the game.

If you're in college, about 60-70% of college campuses scan the L2 port because it's a known P2P port. In other words, the game lags horrendously on most college campuses. I wouldn't even consider it if you're in college.

The customer support for the game is terrible. I know this from beta...the developers don't care what customers think and the forum moderators are idiots. Public Relations is low on the list for Lineage 2.

With more quests and a more engaging storyline, it could be a really good game. I love the style of the game and the great graphics, but there's just not much to do in the game besides level up forever. The teamwork aspect of the game isn't up to par with MMORPGs that came out even 5 years ago.

You can give it a try, but I gotta say that there's much better games out there!

Played it for a while, lasereth has basicly got it down, it has amazing graphics i feel, better than the new EQ2 ones etc, but the gameplay is boring/crap compared to other MMORPGs ive played, (eq etc) i wouldnt waste money on it and wait for the WoW's / EQ2 s.
The PvP aspect of it is harsh, high lvl chars and kill low levels with small penalty and theres little you can do about it, you drop gear when you die, theres also a bit of a problem with bots/farmers and a large chinese base that farm all day, and speak no english, not worth the effort imo, but if you put the hours in you can dominate and have a truely powerful char, although to get there means weeks on weeks of grinding
Its a korean style mmorpg like Legend of mir/lineage1
