Help! GTA Vice City for PC!
I just bought the PC version of GTA Vice City.
It Rocks!!!!!! Now I need help with some cheat codes. Does anyone have them yet? Thanks!:D |
I always stress this, and I will this time as well: NEVER play Grand Theft Auto 3 or Grand Theft Auto: Vice City with cheats. It ruins the entire game. The only reason those games are so amazing is because of the non-linear way that you can complete the games, even including the outstanding plot. Sure, it's fun to drive around and hit stuff for about five minutes, but that gets old really fast. If you want to play the best mafioso/action title out with a great plot and good voice acting, then play the game the way its supposed to be played. Start a new game, follow the plot, and do the missions. I assure you the game will be MUCH funner that way.

if they exist they can probably be found here

People that use cheats in a game are simply admitting that they suck too badly at it to beat it regularly. Give me a damn break, play the game how it's supposed to be played! You'd be surprised at how many game developers admit to hating cheats. Rockstar (the designers of GTA3 and GTA: VC) even said that no one should use cheats on their games until they've fully played through them. I agree 100%.

hgell you just bought it.. try playing w/o cheats for a week.. if that doesnt do ti for ya.. then cheat away.. it's your 40 bucks.. but at least attempt to play it w.o cheats. Just imagine, some programmer stayed at work for 19hr days to get you a fun game.. show some respect and try playing it the way it was intended to be played first.

I get lazy with some games, especially RTS campaigns, and use cheats to get through and see the whole storyline, but I never felt compelled to cheat in either GTA3 or Vice City. The best part of the game was getting through the story unaided. If you're really struggling, just save after every mission completion, every rampage, every hidden package if you really want to. Now, I wasn't above using a guide to find the rest of the packages, or jumps, but I don't think that's exactly the same. So don't cheat yourself of one of the best gaming experiences ever. Play the game straight up.
|
I'm no fan of cheats either but dev "cheats" are too cool to ignore! I've had Jedi Knight II since the day it came out and I still love it, why? Because of all the different cheats and developer commands via the console, these are extremely fun to use.
After I clocked GTA3 I used the cheats, it was great fun riding around in an armoured tank and having the FBI after you whilst bombarding them with rockets atop a building. Plus the guy may have already clocked the PS2 version, he may have just got the PC one for mods and better cheats. If he wants to use cheats then that's his business, no need to flame him. |
I'm not flaming, I'm just trying to get him to have one of the best videogaming experiences I've ever had, like Kadath said. Vice City is an amazing game, and I still strongly recommend anyone who plays it beat the game without cheats, and then go crazy with them.

I just got Vice City for the PC! (Why am I not playing it now.....?)
But BrOdeur, this is for your own good. Play the game through with no cheats! It's spectacular! I will do the same thing I did with GTAIII, play it through with no modifications, no MP3 files, no aid of a walkthrough. Then play it again with a walkthrough, finding all hidden packages first, and definatly skin my face onto the main character's head. To this day I still haven't used any cheats on GTAIII. I agree with Mr. Deflok, devcheats in JK: Outcast made the game kick ass. I like adding my own story by deciding when Kyle gets what force powers and how powerful. |
I can't seem to make a point withour insulting other members so I was edited.
|
Most cheats in GTAIII don't really help you THAT much (unless you do them alot) I cheat, alot. Not to get through the game mind you. Anyone who has used any of the cheats knows that most of them don't help you pass any (or very few) missions anyway. And good god man.. Why no mp3 files? You can only listen to so much chatterbox. One thing I will recomened getting as far as cheats go is getting the car stat editor. trust me there is nothing like driving a near industructible cab at 300 mph.(and I will add the thing is so unstable you can not really complete any missions in it)
|
I'm not saying don't ever use cheats in the game, I'm just suggesting not using them the first time through. The only reason I didn't cheat in GTAIII was becuase by the time I played through it a couple times, something else took up my time.
As for the mp3 files thing, I just wanted to here all the 80's tracks, as I heard the radio content is pretty large. Remember, the game is new to me. Those are just my preferances. |
There is no need to cheat in the game - I suck at games and finished it w/o even being tempted to cheat - it is such a massive game that there is so much to explore that you should be able to go for weeks before getting so frustrated that a cheat would be needed. What a frigging great game. As above, Gamefaqs seems to have it all.

I've heard that Vice City is coded in such a way that it deletes certain items from the game world if you use any cheats proir to beating the game.
|
I beat Vice City today without any cheats... definitely worth a run through without cheating. Even afterwards I don't think I'm going to cheat.
|
I got VC too for PC a few days ago. Holy fucking shit. Seriously, I've been here 20 out of 24 hours playing it. I never played the PS2 version.
Holy crap. |
VC owns, but i agree beat the missions w/ o the cheats but if you wanna just have some good ol fun blowing up mobs of ppl cheat away its great fun
|
if you are going to cheat, make a save game JUST for the cheated version. NEVER NEVER EVER mix them both.
i got gta3 for pc and it is totally awesome w/o cheats! i edited the game one way,i changed the speeder boat to look like miss budweiser (another boat) cuz of dale jr (he drives for budweiser!) it's just a skin, no power difference or nothing. no mods that will change gameplay either. |
I've gone through Vice City 4 or 5 times now (on PS2), the first 2 or 3 with cheating, but you can't get 100% completion with using cheats. So I went through it without using cheats and it wasn't harder, you just had to spend more time looking for armor vests and weapons and health power up icons instead of punching in a code for them.
Here's a tip, though: Do the ambulance missions as soon as you can. It gives you infinite run which really helps when trying to get away from the fuzz. |
