I know I'm missing the 1019 card, but they didn't have it @ EB and I wanted to have one to start with, I'm getting one off ebay. Nintendo brand only of course.

So what am I missing?

You're missing Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker, and a pre-order on Metroid Prime 2. Metroid Prime and Eternal Darkness are easily the best games on Gamecube if ya ask me. Prime is probably the best game I've ever played...or at least in the top 5.

Alright,
I already bought wind waker
I ordered Eternal Darkness off ebay
I also got Resident Evil (The remake of the first one)

Come on, there must be other good games on this system :-)

I am pissed... EB didn't ship my order today because of some b/s with the shipping address... they didn't contact me directly to resolve the issue and I'm definitely not ordering from them again. I pay the premium of buying from a retailer because I expect prompt competent service.

Pikmin is cutsey but fun.

Have you played PoP and Beyond Good and Evil on other systems? If not, need both of those.

whenever I see 'Nintendo', all that comes to mind for me is the latest I have from them - the classic 8 bit system.
edit: that could read 'the latest console system I own', but the Atari 7800 does still kick ass in own respects.

I wouldn't play PoP on GC for one specific reason. Sound compression. The sound on that game is compressed all to hell. The control scheme is perfect, and it's fun as hell, but I wouldn't play it on GC for that sole reason. If you have another console (other than PC) than pick it up on that. That's how annoying compressing the sound is, it's akin to listening to someone shout down a tube, or cupping their hands and not opening them up. It's terrible.

Anyone picked up Tales of Symphonia? That's high on my list of games for the GCN I want to check out.

You're missing:
A Wavebird
Mario Party 5
James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing
Need for Speed: Underground
Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes
Super Smash Bros.
Viewtiful Joe

Madden 2005? (into football?)

There's countless others but those are what I can think of.
Don't get nightfire, get Everything or Nothing. Or both of you want to splurge.

I second (or third) the vote on Symphonia and Beyond GvE. Wavebirds are great, Eternal Darkness, Zelda and Metroid were phenominal. And dont forget your Madden, but I think that applies to all systems.

I've been into the Gamecube lately... I absolutely love The Windwaker and Metroid Prime. Can't wait for The next Zelda game and Metroid Prime 2.

Theres a tonne of cheap GC games out there that I don't have yet: Eternal Darkness, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin snakes, Pikmin, Super Smash Bros., Viewtiful Joe... *looks at wallet and sighs*

Me personally would pass on the GC for a sports game (someone above suggested Madden)

Nintendo has NEVER been a big hit with the sport gamers out there, I know when I was younger I was enjoying my Zeldas, and Lufia's etc while others were playing the sports games on the SEGA and Genesis systems.

ahh damn almost forgot about all them old games, the double dribbles, the jordan vs bird etc. and there even was the NHL ones, but most of the hardcore sports gamers went over to the genesis and beyond for the maddens, the MLB and such.

Tecmo Bowl still kicks major ass though.

yeah I know what you mean. I think the biggest section of the sports gamers market are a little older and have either a PS2 or Xbox... everyone thinks Nintendo is too cute ...

That jordan vs bird game rocked though, hey?

You should skip Turok, TimeSplitters 2, 007: Nightfire, MoH: Frontline, & Splinter Cell.

Get Animal Crossing, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (even though the GC version sucks ass because it doesn't have multiplayer), 007: Everything or Nothing, and wait for TimeSplitters 3: Future Perfect (which I'm not sure if it is coming to the GC, since FRD is trying to make online play a pretty big feature of it.)

Naw, man, Timesplitters 2 is awesome. I sat down today for the first time and built me a map, and it rocks =) The SP isn't bad, either, get it cheap if you can.

Only a very few sounds were compressed for the Cube version. It's really a very minor annoyance.

There is no entertainment in Turok: Evolution. Don't waste $8.

Have you heard the PS2 and XBox versions? The GC version really does have horrid sound. It sounds like the voice actors were placed inside a cardboard box and the microphone put on the outside of it. It made me cringe listening to it!

On the contrary, my friends and I got a fair bit of fun from the MP portion. The SP starts off slow but does get better, it's not an abysmal game by any means.

Just want to chime in again on the Prince of Persia on cube. I haven't heard the ps2 or xbox, only the GC and PC versions. I've got a fairly extreme audio setup, and am fairly nitpicky when it comes to sound, and I also barely noticed anything wrong with the GC's sound.
