ok i was on amazon to pre order halo 2 and i saw there was a collectors edition for like $5 more.

Anyone know what that means, and is the game the same???

Same game with a metal case, and a DVD added featuring some of the making of. To any fan, a must purchase.

I'm so getting that!! dvds are so much easier to manage than 2+ cds :D

um... not to be rude or anything, but do you even know what Halo is?

The collector's edition is just a gimmick to eke a few more dollars out of you.

Bonus stuff isn't worth it, in my opinion. I don't really give a shit how the game was made. If I did, I'd download the "Making of Halo 2" movies on my computer for free.

I'll be getting the HALO CE for sure, that Tin Case is mighty sexy :D

I'm kind of in the middle, I think it's probably a waste of money, however, it would look pretty imposing to have an oversized metal case in your stack of games screaming, "I love mah Halos."

Hmm, hadn't heard of the CE. I think that would be the way to go.

I've already put some money down on Halo 2 (regular version). I'm not going to get the collector's edition, I didn't really think Halo was that great to begin with (it was good, but it isn't this groundbreaking revolutionary FPS like many make it out to be). I don't really give a fuck about the metal case or the "behind the scenes" footage, when I can download the extra movies off the internet. However, I would get it if it actually had some worthy extras (exclusive levels, weapons, skins, game soundtrack, etc).

A day where millions will ignore their phone calls, girlfriends, and jobs to play one of the greatest sequels EVER!

I think I'll renew my subscription to xbox live then too.
Just for kicks, it's been expired since it first came out. (I also beta tested it. That was fun. and I live in canada, that doesn't happen very often.)

I'm always a sucker for anything CE. I alwyas like haveing my DVD/Game collection look all funky with outaplace boxes. just gives your collection more life then the boreing all in a row stacked neatly set up.

indeed: weird-ass dvd cases are the coolest.

wicker man special edition wooden case
9disc alien series case(not that unusual design wise, but freakin' huge!)
halo 2 special edition(you know it will be)
battle royal SE tin

The best DVD case is from HBO's mini-series, Band of Brothers.

LOL Mine looks like the second one. I try and get all the double disc tri-packs or special editions out. But if the movie kicks ass I buy it first day! Like I got Dawn Of The Dead on preorder!
