I got some good news and some bad news...

The good news:
Finaly some info on what has happend to Operation Flashpoint 2 and probably some screenshots are going up this weekend.

The bad news:
It will launch late in 2004 for PC. I sure hope this is a typo and they intended to write 2003 because othervise I'll have to start working for Bohemia Interactive just to get my hands on this game.

If it is a typo, it is a sadly consistent one. Marek Paul (the face of Bohemia Interactive these days) also said Q4 2004. And while this makes me want to projectile vomit every time I see it, I know they will have a game to beat all when it is out.

And as for working for them, I knew I wanted to move to the Czech Republic for something other than Veronica Zemanova :)

Anybody have any info on their previously announsed game "Independence Lost"? Is that still on or has it been transformed into OpFl2?

So did anyone try ARMA? I know it's not that great, but is there a large-scale war sim or squad-based shooter that beats it?

Also, are you behind BI or Codemasters? Hopefully we only have to wait until summertime 2009 for their new games. ARMA2 will be great if it finally resolves bugs/lag. Flashpoint2 will probably be more mainstream, but seems mostly flashy and I'm not sure it will remain the in-depth sim it was. I vote BI with ARMA2, unless the VC in Flashpoint2 can climb trees and survive on a single bowl of rice (I heard hunger among other environmental factors affects your fighting ability).
