Mortal Kombat:Deception

IS anyone excited about the new Mortal Kombat game?

The 3D fighting asile seems pretty crowded nowadays, so I'm not sure if they can revive this old favorite or not.

I really wish they would've kept all the finishing moves... Friendships, multiple fatalities, etc..

I kinda lost interest in MK after they got rid of em.

Deadly Alliance was cool, but I prefer the old MK style as opposed to the Tekken style. It all seems too generic now :\

My intrest started droping after MK2. All i rember is 3 being a lil' too much. I played the newer one, in 3d one on the cube. I liked it, it was ok. I It's pretty hard to make a 3D fighter not feel like all other 3D fighters. Tekken, DOA, Virtual Fighter, Soul Calibur, they all start blending together after a while. Don't get me wrong i like playing em all. Just, they start blending.

Agreed, regardless of the title of the 3d fighting games, until there is a leap in either graphics or some amazingly great feature in a game, they are all pretty similar...

I'm sure I'll play it, but not really excited about it...

I'm quite looking forward to this one, it seems far more richer than previous MK's in that it has so many other modes such as Chess Kombat and Konquest Storymode. Plus the return of favourites like Kabal and Mileena sounds awesome!

MK1 and MK2 are definately the best in the series though, can't wait for Midway Aracde Treasures 2 later this year!

Im definately looking forward to it. I really enjoyed "Deadly Alliance" and this looks to improve on that in every way. And besides that, BARAKAS BACK! Who can not be excited for that reason alone. Cant wait.

I've been waiting for Deception for awhile. Can't wait for it.

I enjoyed Dead Alliance a lot, but it was too complicated for a MK game. I got used to the new system (multiple fighting stances) after awhile, but it took some practice. I played against some of my friends that have play other MK games, and it's not even fun. The other games were simple to play. If a person had played any MK game before and memorized a few special moves for a character, they were able to play fairly well (assuming they could play other MK games fairly well).

DA got hours of play out of me and my pal, the three stance thing was under our belts. I reckon their biggest booboo was having all combos listed in the pause menu. After a few days our battles had turned into who could block and dial combos better. But hell, Sub Zero, Scorpion and Kung Lao are just so awesome!

Meh, I didn't like Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. It was way too easy, the whole game just felt too generic. The series started going downhill after the release of Mortal Kombat II (the last decent MK game).

I am sorry to say that I wasted a good portion of my life with my roomate unlocking EVERY casket in deadly alliance.

We were under the impression that it would unlock a special charactor, or something incredible and great would happen....

we were wrong

I liked Deadly Alliance up until I realized it was EXACTLY like Virtua Fighter and Soul Calibur. I mean, I still like it, but it's disappointing to know that it isn't any different than the other games out (aside from the fatalities).

I actually never ever played the other fighting games until a few months ago. I played Deadly Alliance and thought, "Ah this is kick ass!"

Then I got a chance to play Soul Calibur II, and I realized the style of play is pretty much identical. Played Virtua Fighter 4 about a week later, again, same thing. Each game has it's own very SMALL unique quality, but overall, it seems that it's the exact same fighting engine underneath.

What was cool about MK was that they had something innovative and original to offer in their first two sequels (especially MK2), but now the genre is very blended together. While I'm excited for the fact it's another MK, a big part of me is expecting it to be a disappointment.

It's just... I dunno. It doesn't seem the same.

i think we should bring back the cartoonish fighting games...a la Marvel vs. Capcom...they never get boring. I never played deadly alliance...heard rave reviews though...so i guess i can't comment.

Well, MKA is very 2 dimensional. I found SC2 and others to have more movement other than backwards and forwards. That's what made it different to me =) But I love it mostly for the characters. They're cool.

Too bad the original Mortal Kombat won't be in the new Midway Arcade Treasures. (It will only be included with the special editions of Mortal Kombat: Deception.)
