XBox - No Games?!
I bought an XBox at the end of last year. It always puzzles me when people say that the XBox doesn't have enough games. If they are good games, how many do you need?
I have been looking for a lot of the good titles used or repriced lately. I have about 30 games that I am constantly looking for deals on. That should keep me busy for a while. I have GTA Double Pack, Soul Calibur II, Morrowind, DOA 3, Halo, and the Tetris/Star Wars double game that came with the XBox. I plan on buying ESPN NFL 2K5 and KOTOR pretty soon. What other games do you guys recommend? |

Jesus Christ, Ninja Gaiden is hard as fuck! I just bought it today, and I've been stuck on the first boss for like 2 hours. That Murai guy or something.
The game is amazing though.

Yeah I traded in Crimson Skies and got Ninja Gaiden for $28.
It's definitely a game worth buying.

I didn't find Ninja Gaiden that hard, or entertaining. I think its pretty damn overrated (much like Grand Theft Auto 3/Vice City, or Halo.). I'm not saying it sucked, it just got repetitive pretty fast, for me anyways. I think I beat it on Hard in about 9 or 9 1/2 hours, not that long, I traded it in shortly after that. The bonuses of Ninja Gaiden 1-3 unlockables were cool, but I already own those on the NES, SNES, and have the ROMS on my PC.
Tecmo kinda has a history of overrated games (DOA2, DOA3, DOA:XBV), they keep their games in development for ages, but it seems like they like to focus more on graphics than the actual gameplay mechanics of a game.

I feel the same way too, the DOA games to me are crap fighters, pretty much just button mashers. Kasumi and Hitomi's unlockable costumes are the only reason I'd play them now. Ninja Gaiden I thought was pretty average, good, but not that good. But hey, that's personal opinion for ya.

Halo (for the multiplayer), Gladius (for the strategy turn-based), Magic: The Gathering: Battlegrounds (believe it or not, its a fun action game, very difficult though), 007 Nightfire (very fun to play with friends), Kung Fu Kaos (zany crazy minigame fun), Tony Hawk 4 (fun with friends if you know how to play), Soul Calibur 2 (do I need to say anything for this?), Spiderman (for the bowling, OF COURSE!) and last but not least Hunter: The Reckoning (is a great game with friends)

ESPN NFL 2K5 - $20 and lots of reviewers are saying it's better than Madden 2005. I picked it up yesterday and I'm having a blast. I've always thought that Segas NFL series was the best football game on the consoles though. They started on Dreamcast and they've just gotten better.
I picked up D&D Heroes used yesterday and it's looking to be pretty fun (if you liked Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance, if you didn't don't bother getting D&D Heroes). Doom3 will probably be my next purchase on the Xbox. |

Pitfall is pretty cool. I'm more computer games but since the wife left I've been playing the X-Box I got her for her b-day and find Pitfall takes me back to the old Atari days (in fact they have an original 2600 Activision version of Pitfall in there).

I'll toss in my 2 cents for reccomendations...
Baldurs Gate : Dark Alliance 2 - Good singleplayer or with a friend (Has to be a dedicated, always around friend though) Hunter The Reckoning - Great Multiplayer game. Skip the sequel, Redeemer, it's dumbed down too much. Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay- Great Game. Looks amazing too. Ghost Recon: Island Thunder - Most reliably fun Xbox Live game out there right now. Morrowind (Gold edition that includes the expansions) - Simply amazingly open gameplay. If you have a good PC though...Just get it for the PC. Keyboard > Controller Full Spectrum Warrior - Decent single play, but really shines on system link or Live.

-Project Gotham Racing 2, I personally love racing games and this one takes the cake for Xbox and Live.. the paris expan/long beach expansion are cool.
-Rainbow Six 3, love the realism, even though I suck hardcore at it. -Mech Assualt, it's a classic. -A few others I also have.. basically I am a big XBL person. |

Spiderman 2 has got to be the sleeper hit of the year. The sensation of flying through the air with that "sort-of-control" feeling of going around a too-sharp corner... so fun. Plus, exploring all of manhattan to scale with no loading times... it's very cool.
The missions are standard fare, the many side crimes are repetitive, but over all, I've logged about 50 hours trying to get all the exploration tokens, beating all 150(!) races, picking up all the hint markers, delivering all the pizzas, etc etc etc... wow it's fun. Ninja Gaiden was very dissapointing to me. I also find it very difficult to believe that you beat it on hard in 9 hours. Samurai Warriors is fun for some good old fashioned button mashing. Just that game you pick up at 1130 at night because you don't want to think, you just want to game on. I'm surprised no one mentioned Psi-Ops. I just picked up this little gem yesterday, and I've been very impressed with it so far. It's the first game running on the HL2 physics, and it's very impressive. Pick up dudes with your mind, shoot them, then throw them into other dudes, or into an explosive barrell near other dudes, or off a building, or... anything. Total creativity in death. Fun times. |

Psi Ops is a good game. Im stuck towards the end of it right now :s The Psi abilities really livens up the same ol 3rd person stealth shooter.
I was playing Samurai Warriors tonight. My thumbs are sore, and it is very hard.

I find it odd that so many people advertise Chronnicles of Riddick when the game is so friggin short. I beat it in one night, and was extremely glad that I rented it instead of buying it.
It may be an awesome game, but if I'm only going to get 10 hours of play out of a $40 game, there's no way in hell I'm buying it. PS I hate Ninja Gaiden with all of my soul. Actually, I hate the fact that it laughs at me each time I die. It mocks me with every hit I suffer. It shrieks with joy when I reload my game just to die another gruesome death. I hate you Ninja Gaiden! I HATE YOU!!!
