All you have to do is roll and evade his attacks, pretty simple once you memorize his movements.

Spoiler: Wow, Derwood. I hope you saved first. That's amazing that you didn't get anything. Could there be other factors that decide if you get it or not? On another note, are you planning on getting Skorm's bow? Apparently these two temple quests are easier if you're not fully good or evil. If you did the Skorm's quest and got some evil points, it might be easier to get the mace.

I feel like a dunce for not being able to beat the Chief in the Knothole Glade fighter's club now. I guess I was just getting too cocky, because I took my time when trying it one more time and beat him with no problems.

Spoiler: Yeah, I totally saved first. I'm not sure what the other factors may be. I'm also maxed on Physique and can't get the sword out of the stone (guess I'll max out toughness too). GameFAQ's isn't any help when it comes to these two sidequests

Spoiler: I got it out with max physique, 6 health, and 5 toughness, but as with the Temple of Avo, it could be different for everyone.
Since this whole thread has turned into a spoiler, do we still need to use the tags?

Also, has anyone beaten all of the fist fighters gang rounds? That bastard at Knothole Glade always gets me. He only has to hit you two times, and he can be surprisingly fast sometimes.
What I did was get my.... super move thing up. Then all I did was do a super kick. They would fall down and as they were getting up, I would do the super kick before they got up and it kept knocking them down. When out of the ring, I would go to the furthest point away and when they came to about the middle get close and do the super kick thingy again. Just keep doing it until you knock all of them out including the chief.

Sorry if this was a spoiler.

Ok, I got Fable the day it came out. I beat fable after 20 hours of game time. I love the game. Its very good. A large problem with the perception of the game is M's ability to overhype what hes doing. If someone said this is simply the best action RPG to date with lots of neat shit you cant do in most RPG's there would be ZERO disappointment. I played the game through as a selfish, roguish person. Not evil, not good. About halfway through something happened, due to a boast I made. I had to choose whether to complete the boast and make money or not and remain sort of decent. I completed the boast, did the "Bad Thing" and my alignment paid the price. After that it was a quick descent into evil. The point of the game is it will be different for everyone and different everytime you play it. Is it the super reaching thing it was initially predicted to be years ago? No. Hopefully it will be on the XBox 2. Is it a great game totally worth the price? Yeah. I mean, people get hung up on length. But for quality vs quantity this game proves the argument quality should win everytime.

Also, if you consider, most of us pay $6-$8 for a movie ticket, not counting popcorn and shit. Thats 2 hours, or $3-$4/hr. . Playing through at a leisurely pace I beat fable in 20 hours. $2.5/hr. Plus its mine. I own it, its interactive, I can replay it at my leisure. For those who blaze through it in 10 hrs, thats still $5 an hour. Not bad for your entertainment dollar.

I've never had a problem with the pricing of games but the way you've laid it out it makes a lot more sense. Very insightful, thanks!
