How the hell you pull that damn sword from the stone!? I just can't seem to get it. Spoiler: I figured since i beat the game deciding to destroy the sword, i would be holy enough to pull the sword from the stone. I really want a awsome weapon since i destroyed that uber sword. I figured that the sword in the stone would be the good heros sword. Has any one pulled it yet? I really want to know how.

i havent gotten too far. i am a young adult and i finished the first few quests. i don't like saving mid-quest and having to restart it....but all the items u acquired are in ur inventory. one plus side of that is you get to add more exp for killing the bandits and other baddies.

I got the sword out. I had to Max out all strength skill before hand though. (Physique, health and toughness.)

I pulled the sword without maxed strength stats on my second playthrough. Apparently, you can pull the sword if you improve your stats a certain amount from your first attempt. I believe it was around 5 physique, 3 toughness and health. You would think that you would only need to max physique since that is your physical strength.
I wish Fable had more customization. I mean, it's cool that your character ages and changes depending on how you play (I found it funny that my character with a lot of health was a hairy beast) but what if I don't want to be caucasian? I want to be able to change the color of my hair and eyes, dye my clothes and armor, buy a scabbard for my sword etc. Ah well, you can still get your character to look pretty damn good. I've taken to going around with any upper body armor to show off my tattoos and manly chest. The combat difficulty is such a joke that I've never even come close to dying even when I'm completely naked. Anyway, what kind of character did everyone end up with? My first was an evil half will/half warrior who used the harbringer. My second was a good warrior using the murren greathammer. |
Okay at the end of the game, I saved before the last battle and did the skip scene through the end credits and it ended there. Then I went back to my saved spot and finished the game but let the credits run through and I was able to continue playing. Anyone else experience this?

Again, I don't have the game, but if the reviewer was in fact correct, then what you are experiencing would seem to be normal. Take care. |

stupid question for those that have beat it. Im playing the game thru, first time as saintly character, with the halo and what not, I know about the sword in the stone and then there is some dragon slayer sword in the north bowerstone shop called solstice or something. Anyone know which one is better?
|
Solus, the greatsword is much better then the harbringer, i spent 2 hours maxing my strength stats so i could get it, and in the prosses ended up with enough gold to buy Solus, and it is freaking sweet, with the augmentations it has, sharpening, fire and health i think. im sure its the second best sword in the game

Question:
Spoiler: Which gift am I supposed to buy to give to Lady Grey in Bowerstone North? |
Derwood,
Spoiler: You go buy her a black rose. They are sold at the shop in bowerstone north (the area lady grey is in). |

Thanks. I'll get on that. I had another similar question but it escapes me at the moment. |
I finished Fable in 13 hours :|
|
Ah yes,
Spoiler: How much money do you have to donate at the Temple of Avo? |
Derwood, Spoiler: I was completely good and had to donate upwards of 50k in a single shot to get the mace. I believe if you're evil, you do not have to donate as much.

Spoiler: I'm pretty sure it has to be all at once,

I doubt this deserves a spoiler tag (we had such a nice thing going, huh?). Anyway, what's with the frying pan? I read somewhere that it's supposed to be the "ultimate weapon". It's not any better than some of the earlier weapons I got. Do I need to use it more or something?
Also, has anyone beaten all of the fist fighters gang rounds? That bastard at Knothole Glade always gets me. He only has to hit you two times, and he can be surprisingly fast sometimes. |
All you have to do is roll and evade his attacks, pretty simple once you memorize his movements.

Spoiler: I'm fully good and donated 50,000 gold and nothing happened. The dude said something, but didn't give me the mace or whatever it is |
Spoiler: Wow, Derwood. I hope you saved first. That's amazing that you didn't get anything. Could there be other factors that decide if you get it or not? On another note, are you planning on getting Skorm's bow? Apparently these two temple quests are easier if you're not fully good or evil. If you did the Skorm's quest and got some evil points, it might be easier to get the mace.
I feel like a dunce for not being able to beat the Chief in the Knothole Glade fighter's club now. I guess I was just getting too cocky, because I took my time when trying it one more time and beat him with no problems. |

Spoiler: I got it out with max physique, 6 health, and 5 toughness, but as with the Temple of Avo, it could be different for everyone.
Since this whole thread has turned into a spoiler, do we still need to use the tags? :) |
God bless the genius know simply as Peter Molyneux.

Sorry if this was a spoiler. |
Ok, I got Fable the day it came out. I beat fable after 20 hours of game time. I love the game. Its very good. A large problem with the perception of the game is M's ability to overhype what hes doing. If someone said this is simply the best action RPG to date with lots of neat shit you cant do in most RPG's there would be ZERO disappointment. I played the game through as a selfish, roguish person. Not evil, not good. About halfway through something happened, due to a boast I made. I had to choose whether to complete the boast and make money or not and remain sort of decent. I completed the boast, did the "Bad Thing" and my alignment paid the price. After that it was a quick descent into evil. The point of the game is it will be different for everyone and different everytime you play it. Is it the super reaching thing it was initially predicted to be years ago? No. Hopefully it will be on the XBox 2. Is it a great game totally worth the price? Yeah. I mean, people get hung up on length. But for quality vs quantity this game proves the argument quality should win everytime.
Also, if you consider, most of us pay $6-$8 for a movie ticket, not counting popcorn and shit. Thats 2 hours, or $3-$4/hr. . Playing through at a leisurely pace I beat fable in 20 hours. $2.5/hr. Plus its mine. I own it, its interactive, I can replay it at my leisure. For those who blaze through it in 10 hrs, thats still $5 an hour. Not bad for your entertainment dollar. |
