SuperHero MMORPG - City Of Heroes
I've been following City of Heroes (a Superhero MMORPG) that's been in developement for a long time (nearly two years). I was also recently made Site Admin to a fansite dedicated to this game and Superhero Culture if anyone is interested... It's called The Registry and I also moderate The Hero Lounge which I am always trying to keep updated with cool superhero related sites...
I am very knowlegable about the game and like I've said, been following the developement for a very long time. I am more than happy and eager to answer (or at least try to) any questions about the game you might have ![]() Anyways here's some info about the game if your interested - Game Features
Awesome Graphics - check out some of the screenshots - Last edited by Maveric; 05-11-2003 at 12:30 PM.. |

Howdy MAveric.. i sure hope you arent site plugging
![]() The game looks cool.. Hopefully it'll be much better than the stinkfest (and waste of my 40 bucks) that was Freedom Force. I remember hearing about this game some time ago, What engine is it using? Unreal? Quake3? |

nope, i'm just a longtime fan, and have been following it's developement for a while now. I'm really hoping this game turns out as good as it appears to be.
As for the game engine, it was built from scratch by Bruce Rogers. They started building the engine sometime in 2001 and the engine was custom built for this game... I am not to knowledgable about tech stuff like that but I am quite familiar with the Q&As and interviews (quite a few) they have released about the game. Most questions are about costumes, powers, and combat etc... Oh, I do know that the Paragon City (the game setting) will be somewhere between 25-35 square miles... |

Holy crap! I KNEW there was a forum i have been neglecting!!!
Hey Maveric, on the COH's forums, I should be on there too. I'll post there tomarrow or so. Yeah i'm no fan of MMORPG's, but I LOVE SuperHero RPGs.. so this game might just be the one to break me in.

Heard about this game a while ago but haven't really followed up on it, but I must say it looks great. Might actually take the MMORPG plunge with this one. Wow, just imagine how cool this would be if everyone actually role-played their characters......would make for some neat dialogues. Gonna have to find some way to make a Green Lantern character.....
P.S. Freedom Force was one of the stupidest games I've played. The mood and theme of the game were good, but the gameplay was just garbage. |
