Ouch, man. That's pretty fucking painful.
|
Yeah, sorry to hear that.
On another note, I actually picked up my copy today and I'm loving it. I'm kind of stuck though, does anyone know how to get to the statue of liberty by swinging on those UFO's? Is there some trick to it because I keep falling. |
Chruch, put the swinging on normal.
1)Swing on to one UFO, and charge your jump. 2)Right before your arc starts to push you backwards, jump. 3)When you are at your highest, put out a web. Repeat steps 1-3 as needed. |
Apparently you can grab a helicopter halfway out, then switch to another copter when the first one starts to turn back. I know what you mean though, Church. That took me quite a while. Only the Doc Ock missions were more frustrating.
|
Ok, I actually got it, finally. And I'm sure it was just me, but when I was destroying the orbs on the holographic projector, I actually felt like I was up high. And since I'm a little afraid of heights, it really added to the experience. I LOVE this game!!
|
Haha, that mission was rather awesome. I only fell once from the UFO's, but I'd spent hours swinging so I was pretty pro =P
|
My least favorite aspect of the game is Spoiler: When you have to bust up the arms sale, and afterward all the supervillian gang members in the city are those damn robosuits, which are kind of tough to kill, especially if there are three.
Whenever I respond to civilian distress now and it turns out the be that I groan. It's worse than the damn sinking boat. |
Hehe, I've managed to take on most of the battlesuits pretty easily now. Just finished the story portion of the game and I'm sorta blown away. The last battle was pretty hardcore =) And now, onto earning thousands upon thousands of points!
|
Yep, I beat the story as well... with less than 49% of the game finished. Must... Earn... More... Hero Points....
|
Damn, I'm on the Doc Oc mission where you have to shut down his reactor and save MJ, and I'm glad that Xbox has tearaway cables because this mission is pissing me the fuck off! lol
|
Yes, Church, that mission was a bitch and a half. My only tip would be to the do the station under the floor last, and when fighting Ock just stick the the standard "web up all his tentacles, punch him a few times and jump away as he wriggles free" strategy. I am about halfway through the massive hero point reqs for chapter 16 -- I'd be further if my game hadn't frozen as I was being given a civilian mission, leaving me to reload and re-earn all the hero points since my last save.
|
Ok, I beat the story mode as well. Took me one day, but that's only 50% of the game! haha, I love it.

Yeah, true. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet, but I may just get them as I see them, and if I've already gotten it, then so be it.
And I'm not sure if you know, but you can choose which things show up in your map legend. For instance, you can make it just hint markers, so you can see how many are around you. Hope that helps some. |
Yeah, I found that out, but it still doesn't tell me if I've been to it, and I tend to find myself on the Upper East Side a lot (maybe because my best friend lived there until a few weeks ago) and getting the same tips.

Man, I didn't even notice that, lol.

The thing I love about this game is how accurately they modeled the island. I've swung around for hours finding places I've been or places I've heard about. "Look there's where the hotel I stayed at is.". "Look there's Ground Zero.". Even if they don't have the names of places on the buildings (I noticed that the Carnegie deli is labeled as a "food cafe" or something) at least they are in the right places and the buildings are correct. I wish you could swing out to Queens and the Bronx. I'm going out to NYC next week and I think I'll be able to find my way around even better after playing this game. ;)

Edit: IT DOES!! Holy crap, hulk, you saved me! Thank you! |
Haha, all in a day's work for your friendly neighbourhood spide...hulk.

Those of you that have it on console are so lucky. I tried out the PC version and it is utter crap. Complete waste of even releasing it on PC. Just horrible.
|
That's because it's a different game, my friend. Come, let us forget that horrendous experiment ever occured.
|
Hot damn! I bought it yesterday. It's farkin' fantastic. :D
I get lost so easily, though. So far, I've let two people drop to their deaths and couldn't get two others to the hospital in time. Oops! :p |
Much better game than I was expecting.
|
Movie was great, not sure about the game as I ahve not seen much about it
|
is'nt the pc supposed to be the more mature platform?
|
Woah, look at the join dates on those rookies. How odd...
*Ahem* 1) Yes, the game roxxors your boxxors. 2) Go play it, NOW! No, don't look, go NOW AND PLAY IT! 3) The PC version is complete and utter ass. The PC platform is most definately not more mature. Just more geeks play on PC's. Generally. Hypothetically. |
Oy. Finished the first day of the rest of your life tonight. I've got inside 20 hint markers to go, and I'm making decent progress on hideouts and skyscrapers, but bouys and secret are going to be impossible, and I haven't done more than a handful of the challenges to say nothing of the mega challenges. Definitely replayability-a-go-go!

/sighs
another reason to buy an XBOX. |
Could some kind person help me out with a hint on how to shoot the orbs on Liberty Island?
I tried sticking to the side of the central structure and blasting the orbs on the arms that way, but it doesn't seem to work. I can't seem to swing and aim to shoot a web blast with any accuracy at all, either. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. |
You don't actually shoot them, you have to punch them. Swing clock-wise with the structure, and keep your web lines short. And also, you just have to kind of get near them, then start punching. Your character will automatically start hitting the orbs if you're in the area.
|
Thank you, Church. I'll give it a go. :)
Edit: Worked lke a charm, Church! Thanks. I finished that part and the part at his apartment, (which, btw, reminded me of the scene in Conan the Destroyer with the sorcerer), now I'm shuttin' it down for the night. *whew!* ;) Thanks again, bud. |
Has anyone seen any birds, rats or trash?
Small details I would've liked to've seen. Name some of yours. |
That would take WAY more work. I'm glad they didn't do it though, because if hey did, it would have been like GTA:VC, and all those flyers just annoyed me, and the birds were just moving backgrounds which you could never get close to. They would have had to have made a whole new AI platform for it.
Cool idea though, just a little ahead of our time. :) |
Oh man. How the fuck to you web Doc Ock's tentacles? That SUUUUUUUURE could help me out.
/has been trying to beat the last Doc Ock level for the past week |
Ok, it takes some practice, but its easy once you get it down pat.
I found its best to basically press your dodge and web button at the same time when you see your spider-sense go off, because spidey will just dodge and immediately shoot the restraining webs. Hope that helps you. |
Okay, so XBOX would be B & Y?
THANKS Church!!! |
Yep yep. np. :)
