A WARNING TO ALL DIABLO II MAPHACKERS

Ok, now that I got your attention with all caps, let me tell you what I've heard.

Blizzard is releasing a new D2 patch tonight. It will handle the following and more:
-All dupes other than SOJ's will rust again
-All cd-keys used on computers with map-hacks installed will be disabled. If your character has been spotted using a map hack by the servers, it will be deleted without notice.
-Typical finagling of monster health, weapon/skill damage, chances of finding certain items, and fixes of bugs.

Geez, people are still finding ways to dupe? That game will never be 100% unhackable will it?

People that dupe and hack are the lowest form of scum. Play a game the way it was meant to be played. Mods are fine, but leave the original alone, and stop cheating. Jebus.

personally, i found maphack made d2 more enjoyable. The first time through, it was fine not having maphack, since everything was new. However, after going through it multiple times, I didn't want to have to remap the jungle, so I just brought up maphack.

but i havent played in nearly 2 years.

What great timing... I just started playing the game again with the start of summer and have a barb around level 85 with descent equipment. I think i'm going to roll-up a magic find sorc this time.

I heard it from a number of people. It seems that the patch wasn't released when expected, but look for it soon, as the ladder season ends.

I hope it ends soon, but with Blizzard "soon" may be a long time...

I used maphack mostly for the chicken hostile factor. I got tired of having my high level characters die due to a trigger hack on the other party.

Since I lost my MF Sorc about 2 months ago I haven't touched the game. I had 800 life and 500 mana. I died in one hit against a council members CE on death.

Glad to hear this.

The people who use maphack will typically/if not always have better gear than those who play legit. Its a way to make yourself have an edge vs those who don't cheat. You can get way more meph/baal runs in if you have maphack.

Cheating is cheating, good that Blizzard is still working on eliminating the cheaters.

What game will ever be able to say they are unhackable?
