NES Mega Man games...which was your favorite?
 

I was reading my issue of EGM that I just recieved in the mail, and I see that Mega Man Anniversary Collection is reviewed. I read it over, and it got good reviews and whatnot, but two things caught my eye...

Good: Mega Man 1-4, 7, 8
Bad: Mega Man 5, 6

"Ah, Mega Man 2---the greatest game in the series. Some fools will argue that 3 deserves that honor, but they're wrong."


So, with all of that said, #4 is my personal favorite, followed pretty closely behind by #2, then #5, #3, and #1 and #6 are interchangable as last place for me...and yes, I accept the fact that I'll be greatly outnumbered. I'm just curious to know which Mega Man game on the NES is your favorite, so this may be settled.

I wrote 2, but honestly that's part guess-work. It's been so long since I've played them that I don't REALLY remember which was my favorite. What I did was run by http://www.gamefaqs.com and look at the boss lists for all the games, then I tried to remember which ones I liked the best all around.

So I THINK it was MegaMan 2. But I'm not SURE.

#2 was definitely my favorite of the NES ones, no guessing required. That's where Mega Man actually seemed to be taking on a personality- I never even played the first game until after this one, largely because of the ass-ugly boxart. The bosses were also great- Metal Man, Bubble Man, Air Man and Wood Man are still favorites. I did like #4 too, although I never owned a copy.

I'm gonna go with 3 on this one, since it's the only one I can remember playing without getting to angry. Oh, and the Protoman whistle will forever be burned into my memories.

how come my egm hasn't come yet.

personally i found number 3 the best, had the most fun on that one.

I liked 3 the best.
