I saw it, it look Metal Gearish to me.
The first games on Nintendo were on a jungle, so, this game is metal gearish I wanna see how the stealth is gonna work on the jungle. Maybe coloring his face, climbing trees, I can't wait for more news on this.

Looks like they're using the same MGS2 engine, I'm down with that as long as they improve the level design and don't give us another Raiden! Lookin' pretty sweet but I remember lookin' at MGS2 trailers saying how awesome they were only to have Kojima cheat me by making me play a game practically missing the character I wanted to play as.
Oh well, I'll probably still get MGS3, but only if the above conditions have been met! |

Nice change of pace with the environment. I can imagine lotsa cool stealth scenarios in a jungle setting. Kinda creepy how Snake reared back his head like a vampire there.
On another note, I hope to god raiden won't be back this time around. I remember the first time I saw a MGS2 trailer....all they showed were the cool tanker parts with Snake, then when I finally played the damn thing it was 80% Raiden, which ruined the game for me. Hopefully they use some common sense and make this game about the MAIN character. |

Snake is the only one worthy
I highly doubt they'd put in Raiden into MGS3, atleast not as the hero. To prove my point, Konami removed Jehuty's previous pilot from ZOE (that game that came with the MGS2 demo) and made a much improved protagonist in ZOE2. MGS3 will hopefully just use the same engine, which was incredible, and touch up where people disliked the game. Hopefully theyre gonna give us a more subtle conspiracy instead of layer upon layer of secrets that end up being pretty lame=p

Ya never know with Hideo Kojima. Sure, he is one of the best game designers in the world, but his take on videogames is a little bit different than most designers. He doesn't make games for the people that play them, he makes games the way HE would want to play them. Kojima said that he wanted to feel seperated from Snake and see him from a different perspective in Sons of Liberty, and you see how that turned out with fans. Personally, if the storytelling aspect, gameplay, and most badass hero ever in a game (Snake) return, then MGS3 will be awesome. For once, I hope Kojima doesn't do what fans want and make it an action fest with no deep plot. When I say deep plot, I don't mean Sons of Liberty (who the hell edited that game? The plot towards the end was unbearable), but more like Metal Gear Solid. The first game was amazing because of its innovation in gameplay but moreso because of its amazing plot. Nothing had had such a sophisticated plot before in a videogame; that's where Kojima shines. I pray that MGS3 is good. I pray really hard.
