My first thought was "yeah, every day at work, some PC in my office is suffering", but I don't think that's what you meant.

I remember when I saw commercials for the console versions. I notice they cancelled the GC version. Apparently it's considered to be the best for the Xbox. It's going for $30 bucks for the PC, 20 bucks less than console versions. Not sure what that signifies.

Piracy is much higher in the PC market?

It's actually been getting pretty good reviews, it got a 4 out of 5 on Xplay, and an 8.somethin on Gamespot.

Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage, three flies landed in each of their pints. The Englishman pushed his beer away in disgust. The Scotsman fished the fly out of his beer and continued drinking it, as if nothing had happened. The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!"

Its cheaper on the PC because it isn't the same game. It doesn't have as many levels and characters as the xbox one.

The game gives the dark, scary feel of a good horror/blood'n gore movie without the innocent victim protagonist that ruins the whole mood. Instead we play a thogh convicted murderer who rather blow the monsters to minced meat than cower in a corner or trip over invisible treeroots.

I must say that I just love the controls (Max Payne-style), the movement is pure bliss to play and makes the massacre of monsters an efficcient balet of blood, bullets and intestines. You can switch between 3rd person and 1 person with the square button (sort of like MGS2 but the view you pick sticks till you hit the button again).

The only downpoint so far (I haven't finished the whole game yet) is that switching between weapons is slow and cumbersome.

You also get to choose path, If you want to play a good guy, neutral or bad guy (like the dark and light paths in Knights of the Old Republic) and get a different ending for each path.

The mosters are well done and very thought through you can see that there is a lot of effort put into making the monsters as livelike as possible.

All in all I give it a 9 out of 10 Well woht the money since replay worth is high because of the awesome action.

Actually, I would imagine it stems from A) console development teams having to pay nintendo/sony/microsoft to develop for their particular consoles and B) having to spend extra time learning how to program for a specific console.

Pretty much what Cervantes said but I'll just add what I disliked about it. The backtracking was extremely annoying and sometimes it's hard to figure out where you're supposed to go. It's also not really a horror game, more like an action game with occasionally creepy or disturbing stuff. It's not really genuinely scary, like say Doom 3 or Silent Hill. The enemies are creepy and scary at first (except for the mainliners, those were just annoying) but it's hard to be scared when you're mowing them down with a machine gun. Otherwise, it's a fun game just don't expect a horror game.

Crazy

I actually think The Suffering was creepier and scarier than Doom 3. In The Suffering, you see images and flashbacks of people dying or suffering, you hear voices in your head etc.

Nothing is scaried than Silent Hill.

I really liked the sound in The Suffering. Hearing the click clack of metal legs running around was pretty cool. The ghostly images you see, flashbacks, etc. that panbert is talking about are very, very well done.

I didn't like the graphics, the engine is showing its age with character models. The lighting work made up for that a bit though. All in all it was a good bargain bin PC game.
