Help me fix my PS2
Look at the pic, like the white part that has the line to it is supposed to make the whole head of the unit move back and forth to read the CD. but when i get that motor to spin, it just skips as if the white part and the rail are not making the right contact. Is there anything that can be done? I lubed up the rails so it slides easier but same effect.

Are you sure the motor connected to that gear is functioning? Are you sure a signal is being seng to that motor? Try watching it when there's a game in there. |

Does the metal rail spin when you press the reset button? If so, remove the lazer and clean underneath the white plastic, then bend it a little but not too much. Only enough so that the plastic will grip the rail. Screw the laser back in and try it out.
Did you make sure the orange cable is attached to the housing underneath? If it is attached but the rail doesn't spin, your motor is bad. I'm a certified PS2/Xbox repair tech. So let me know if you have anymore questions. Good luck!
