Halo: Cooperative or multi-player

When you play halo, do you go for the cooperative game-play or the multiplayer deathmatch? Its not the same unless youre playing against an opponent. Who doesn't love Slayer on Hang em High- its just a classic. But some of my friends only play coop. Can anyone explain what they're thinking?

I love playing Hang Em' High with pistols only, and on different tvs. It makes for some awesome sniping. And ppl always hate it when u sneak up behind them and pistol whip 'em.

Deathmatch,
My flatmate always kicks my ass on the fighting games on PS2. So its my only chance to get 'im back. Although I only borrowed Halo so I eventually had to give it back.. Argh

Can't wait for H2

Multi-Player all the way.
We generally get together at least twice a month to play Halo.
Setup is usually 3-4 TVs/Xboxs and 12-20 people.
Deathmatches until dawn

COOP with halo has been some of the most fun I had with any game in years, it was like back on the old school nintendo, playing 2 player coop games on that.
I prefer it a lot to competitive games.

I think i maybe the only one that thought Halo was a total bore. Couldn't even finish it.

Perhaps another question is how many of you had even heard of Halo's developer (Bungie) before Halo?

...

Halo coop is pretty fun. Play it with my dad and sister.

Yep. Halo got Game of the Year by dozens of publications, and for good reason. Its easily the best console FPS ever, and the physics engine will make its PC port REALLY good. It may be the first physics engine oriented PC FPS to get close to Battlefield 1942's sheer fun factor.

Co-op saved the later parts of single player for me. But multi is great too.

Cooperative play? What is this "cooperative" you speak of? I've played against the Covenant and Flood with my friend before, but it always ends in a death-match one way or the other.

My favorite is the very last level, if one of you gets left behind in one of those huge holes, and the other person dies and gets warped back to the whole.... A friend and me discovered that you can't get out without the truck. The result? 3-Minute End of the World Death Match!
