Parcheesi, bitches. Parcheesi and Yahtzee. And the classic Monopoly taught us all to be bastards about money .

I voted chutes and ladders... I used to have a GIGANTIC playing board that folded out, one side was chutes and ladders, the other side was checkers... that was so much fun
you cant have more fun than with chutes and ladders... or that rat bastard chute right before the finish... i ALWAYS got stuck in that chute

I never played Chutes & Ladders.
I've seen tv characters playing, though. Looked fun. Candyland was a riot, if I'm remembering correctly. Haven't played it since First grade. It got my vote. Now, Mousetrap was fun as hell, too.

*edit* I voted Candyland, by the way. I don't know as I've ever played Chutes and Ladders.

The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!" |

Gotta go with Candyland, though I was never a big fan of either. However... Quote:

i wonder if the renaming was due to Christian Right campaigning, or due to copyright? in this competition, i'm voting for Candyland... even though i don't know what it is... its just that the name 'chutes and ladders' shits me to tears. best game ever... i've got to go with Hungry Hungry Hippos (closely followed by mousetrap+trivial pursuit).

Risk, Monopoly, trivial pursuit don't enter into this...
Snakes (chutes) and Ladders, Candyland, Hungry, Hungry Hippos, Ker-Plunk, Trouble, Sorry, etc. are all for the under 7 crowd... the aforementioned games are played by older kids... like me.

Mousetrap kind of sucked, actually. You spend all that time setting it up and then you set it off and it takes 7 seconds to run through the whole thing, assuming everything worked, and you felt kind of empty afterward. It was like stripping a woman covered in 17 layers of clothing only to find out it's a mannequin or something.

Dude Chutes and ladders actually had a layer of skill. I'm sure most of perfected our crap throwing skills by trying to get enough to not land on that last chute right by the end.
Candy land you could sorta squeeze your way by. |

of the two, I've got to vote for S+L, (damn, that snake at the end was a motherfucker)
but mousetrap was probably my favourite. Even now, I'm a big fan of Rube Goldberg type shit.
