omg so bored!!!11!!
hah, well it's summer and i have nothing to do. I need some new game to keep me interested. I have a PS2 and a pretty nice computer, but I can't think of a new game to get. I was thinking about getting Lineage II but it's $50 and then the subscription so i'll hold off a little bit. Here's a list of some games I've played, maybe someone can offer a suggestion. I'm kinda into RPG/strategy kinda games.
GTA: VC EQ Lineage II Beta WC3 thanks for the help. |

If you like RPG's, you owe it to yourself to get Baldurs Gate 2 and Knights of the Old Republic on pc.
For strategy you might look at this thread.

If you're looking to kill time, p of p probably isnt the best game, as it only gave me about 10 hours of fun till i beat it. Kotor is great and will last a while, as will morrowind, baldurs gate 2, icewind dale 1+2, and other dnd style games.

A lot of good games have been named, I only need to add Deus Ex (NOT INVISIBLE WAR) and Planescape: Torment.

Disgaea
I was in exactly the same boat as you until yesterday when by the advice of a few friends I picked up Disgaea : Hour of darkness. If you have ever played final fantasy tactics and enjoyed that then Disgaea is the game for you. Even if you havent' played tactics.. I would still recommend Disgaea. I played it for 10 hours straight today I was so addicted.
The storyline is absolutely awesome. The main characters make me laugh atleast once per cut scene and they keep the story extremely interesting. There are tons of weapons and combo's and spells... everything an rpg gamer could ever want. The game has (from what I hear) a ridiculous amount of playing value since your characters can be doing missions up until their levels are in the 1000's. They also released another game along these lines called Lapucelle Tactics that will almost definately be worth picking up too. Anyways if I could recommend one game for this summer, its Disgaea

I wouldn't recommend WC3 unless you're really interested in only the single player or maybe custom games online. It is getting old and the ladder is desolate... The only people left are either A) clueless newcomers who don't realize what they have gotten themselves into and B) the remaining hardcore elite who will wipe the map with 90% of RTSers out there. I finally gave up on the game after 2 years because I ended up playing the same teams at the top of the ladder over and over and over again... And the game isn't known for it's well-mannered people

I highly reccommend any of the Baldurs Gate series, or any of the stuff with BioWare's label on it for that matter. Neverwinter Nights is OK, but much cooler in theory with all the stuff you can do, than in reality with the stuff you will do. KOTOR is possibly one of the best games i have ever played. Its simply amazing.
While its old, it will probably work to your advantage. I really loved Planescape: Torment. The graphics will definately show its age, but you can almost always find it on the $10 rack, often couple with some other crappy game. The story was very fun and unique. It was a blast to play. Plus, without a level cap, you can try out all the classes to the extreme if you want to without having to replay the game. Its on the cheap, so i reccommend it. There are far worse games to spend your money on.

I thought about it and I think you should get a lot of old school games, instead of one new game.
Deus Ex is 4.99 at Amazon Arcanum is 8.99 at Amazon PlaneScape is 21 at Amazon Fallout 1/2 are 10 together at Amazon BGII w/ Throne of Bhaal for 15 at Amazon Morrowind GOTY for 25 at Amazon That is 80 dollars worth of gaming that will last you the entire Summer. I would be willing to estimate that those games will take about oh, 400-500 hours to complete depending on how many side-quests you do. With mods, that number gets something like 100 hours added to the high and low. If you go this route, I would suggest getting BGII first because that is clearly the biggest bang for your buck on the list followed by fallout 1/2.

Also, you said you play GTA:VC. On PS2 or computer? If you have it on the computer, have you ever considered modding it? It's a very easy game to mod and you can make some really cool stuff for it. I'm real into 3D modeling and stuff so I make my own cars for it and edit the stock game ones. Its pretty fun to do. |
