Playstation 2 cd issues..

Question: Is there a way to essentially defect a cd without compromising the aesthetic value of said cd? I've rolled over a few ideas, and none of them are surefire.

The scenario here is your basic "cheating the return policy so you can get free rentals" ..

Any help would be appreciated!

i think we're gonna need a better explaination than your simple scenario... and if you're trying to get away with something you shouldn't be getting away with and destroying rental property at the same time, i'd go ahead and send me a pm so i can close the thread.

Yeah, I was wondering if he needs this info to prevent people from doing this at his job or something, or if he needs the info to actually try this at a rental store. If it's the latter, better go ahead and break out the

Well I figured that the thread would be closed, but I really don't see much difference between my wanting to get free shit and this whole thread devoted to it ..

Either way, close it if you must.

If I read it right, he wants to buy a game, play it, damage it in a way that's not visibly noticible but still disabling, and then return the game. Hence, a "free rental".

Nobody on the other thread is physically damaging a $50 game just to get a free $4 rental. That's just being a dick. :( $4 is nothing anyway, and it's really, really screwing over the rental place.

It's not worth the effort. Why don't you just rent from gamefly.com?

They aren't damaging materials per se, rather just stealing them outright. Or finding the loopholes to get their shit for free.

Either way, I was just curious if it is possible. How about for DVD's? I do work at a electronic store and there is this certain special someone that always seems to buy the defective dvd's. I have purchased well over 100 dvd's and have never encountered a 'defective' one. Well as store policy reads, he is issued a new dvd or store credit, and ironcially enough, he opts for the credit. We have to test the dvd's out when he returns them, and they are infact defective, but it just seems convenient that HIS are almost always broke, when mine have never been... Any theories?
