Fight Club: The Game

http://fightclubgame.com/us/

Kind of came out of nowhere. I just hope it doesn't suck. The pictures look good, but the characters don't look much like their movie counterparts, in the face at least. If you read over at ign they say that the game is pretty fun. Kind of strange that they would make a game based after this movie 5 years after its release.

**Here are some of the pics from the main site**

I can sort of see why they're doing it, as the movie is still popular even today. As for the game itself, looks like a lame excuse to make a quick buck off of name recognition.

My final opinion will come based solely on the digitized appearance of Bitch Tits.

I remember reading the rumours about this back when the movie came out. I'm surprised they went through with it after all this time.
Spoiler: I wonder if fighting the last boss involves shooting yourself in the throat

so... is there a level where you intimidate your middle-management boss by acting assertive where you've always been passive beforehand and then smile a bloody smile to him?

also, is there a special robert paulsen bitch-tits attack?

seriously... this was a great movie. overdoing it with games or sequels farts in the face of an otherwise great peice of cinema

Ha! I win, they called him "Jack"

I guess they needed to make this into a game because of law 230.190 or the "Everything cool needs to be done in at least 3 media formats" law. I knew that law would come back to bite us in the ass.

Pass

(The graphics really bother me,and like its been said this game seems to be made just to make some cash from the movie it's made after)

it's already been said at E3 that they CAN'T make Tyler look like Brad Pitt due to legal reasons, so that's gonna suck. The graphics are supposed to be good, but they don't look that good to me I love this movie, it's one of my favorites. Shelled out 37 bucks for the DVD when it first came out. It would be different if this movie was about FIGHTING but it's not....

Hell, the guy they interviewed that was on the team that is making the game was like "yeah this concentrates on the fighting aspect of the movie." SUCK.

One interesting factor: You can break bones and stuff. If you break your arm, you can't use it anymore. Moderately interesting

I think they are just cashing in on it's post-theater popularity.

Um. I'm pretty sure he was saying he'd stick to the games. Street Fighter was good fighting game. Fight Club will not be.

Nobody mentioned Street Fighter the movie... but that is also a good example of how fighting games don't port well to movies, or the other way around.

So are we in agreement that the game will blow and lose money for whoever is making it? Why would they even bother?

I got it for Christmas, and the single player sucked very very badly. I haven't played a fighting game since... since a long time, so I have no reference for if it's good or bad in terms of fight mechanics, but it seems alright in spite of the before/after taunts that have moving lips with no sound.

For anyone who's played it: Does anyone know how to unlock the last movie in theatre mode, sitting right under Richard Chesler's?

PS: Fighting as Abraham Lincoln - Awesome.

heh....it's funny....how this little book written out of desperation (Chuck Palahniuk couldn't get his crap published for being "too dark" so he writes the darkest thing he could and gets published...) first becomes a hit movie (overshadowing the book even) now a game....christ...their are even seminars in college about fight club...

The game looks aweful....I mean come on...1st....narrator is never named...but I think they are calling them jack...
2. Jack doesn't have an asshole on his face...strike two!
3. If I don't see bitch tits and soap...it's not fight club!
and whoever said fight club was really about the social commentary anyway is completely right...these guys are nuts.

Maybe I'm used to play fast-paced fighting games, but when I rented this game it seems DAMN slow to me.
Pretty violent/gory game, too with all the limb/back breaking moves.. makes me cringe :P
Overall, pretty sucky game, really doesn't compare with most other fighting games out there.
