Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. Im not this guy, and this is not an advertisment, but I thought I would share the wealth. I bought one and the card has a scratch off surface over the cd key. Also If you use one of these codes you get CS,TFC,HL,etc for free while you wait for HL 2 to come out.

I don't know how i feel about this. I'm the kind of guy that likes a shiny new box when I buy a game.

I dunno for sure but when I registered my key im prettyyy sure it said something about sending me the retail box when it comes out

I have a retail cd of HL with no cd key (it was lost in a move) any idea if that would get it to work again?

This just reeks of a scam to me man. I mean, I hope you don't wind up getting ripped off, but who is distributing keys to games that are not even complete yet?

No thats the whole thing. I already bought the card (previous auction), got it in the mail and registered the key. It works.

he got it when he bought his video card.

ati have been giving away hl2 vouchers with activation keys for months now

The voucher comes with ATI video cards, but the card (and the number on the card) means nothing if you don't have the retail box; you need to send in the barcode from the box AND a photocopy of the receipt.

Maybe I'm just not getting it?

So if I just buy this card from some eBayer I get activation codes for HL1, which I already have. But as a bonus I also get a key for HL2, but I still have to buy the game?

Clearly I am missing the point.

Correct me if I am wrong. But I believe that the code on the voucher is actually a steam CD-Key that will allow you to download HL2 when it is released. As a bonus the key gives you access to download Half-Life and all of it's mods.

You won't get the CD's that Half-Life 2 will come on. (without the video card serial/reciept) But if you log into your account that was activated with that key. You will be able to download it* from the steam servers any time.

Again, correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that is how it's set up.
