PS 2 problem
My PS 2 starting to say disc read error and wouldn't play any games. When I blow in the disc tray of the PS 2 before I put the game in, it has worked a few times. Should I send it in and how much does it cost to send it in to sony?

i had a problem w/my ps2 a couple years ago (back then they said they would charge me nearly a hundred dollars plus shipping for the privilege of having them take 3 weeks to fix it.
hopefully that situation has changed since then, i know my console of choice has.

As the man in the raccoon suit said it's going to cost you a bunch of kablingy. PS2 dropped to $150 and is supposedly coming down to $99 in November. Probably best to get a new console, or used one.

I got my ps2 when it first came out and I got the DRE problem few months ago. I bought one of those dvd and cd cleaner with a little brush on it. It fixed my DRE problem, buy a dvd and cd cleaner and see if it works.

1 - This has been talked about countless of times already in this forum.
2 - I was to send mine and they would fixed it, and send it back. All it would have costed was shipping, but my father was heading pass the Canadian shipping address and he dropped it off and picked it up on his way back last month. Total cost = $0 and it's working fine again.
