Red Dead Revolver

I bought this today at Frye's on sale for $40 instead of $50. ive been reading about it for months in gaming magazines, and the charecter reminded me of clint eastwood... so i decided what the heck

turns out its a pretty mediocre game. there isnt much substance at all. and i think that the controlls could be ALOT better. i think this may be one of the worst games rockstar has ever put out...

oh yeah.... i forgot

i have the game Red Dead Revolver for sale... only $45!

OMFG OWNED!

From the trailers it looked pretty neat but I've been hearing the same thing from friends, highly mediocre. I gave Dead Man's Hand a whizz the other day and loved it, the main character is a crack up. Though I doubt the game would hold my attention long enough.

Holy shit that disappoints me badly. I've been looking forward to that for awhile now. I was excited by the prospect of a badass Western game. But hell, if it sucks, then that sucks. But I need to get ahold of Dead Man's Hand, sounds like.

I am really enjoying this game. I think people expect way to much these days. I heard nothing about it till the day I bought it and it seemed like a fine game. It had cinematic graphics, easy enough controls, a decent story (for me, being a fan of westerns) and managed to hold my intrest.

That makes me sad too. There needs to be a good game in this genre.

Imagine something that has shootouts, a saloon, a nervous sheriff, Indians, cavalry, the Colt navy revolver, the upgrade to the Winchester repeating rifle...

This is off the top of my head. This game should rock. Why is something most gamers grew up on (along with Star Wars I admit) being ignored or poorly implemented?

/my rant

This game is fine so far from what I have played. The controls are a lot like Max Payne's, which is a good thing. The game is fun, not too hard and not too easy. I played the multiplayer with my brother and that was a blast. I think its cool and some of you people are way too over critical.

I don't doubt its short, but so was Max Payne 1 & 2 and they were awesome. Its definitely worth a rental and if I saw it for sale used for 25 bucks I would buy it.

I have to agree..
ROFL. I busted at this line.

Always a shame to pick up a game that is a bust after you've been expecting something good from reviews. I think we've all done it... more than once =/

Actually, you described this game fairly accurately. I am not a huge fan of westerns, and I think it's a decent game. The Dueling certainly is a bit unique compared to other duels out there.

I liked the game....until it was over (which was only a few hours). I really wish there were more games in this genre, as I thought this one was quite fun while it lasted.

My first reaction is, gee really? I'm not surpised at all that this game sucks. I thought this one would suck from the moment I saw it. Highly disappointing from Rockstar. I don't own an XBOX or whatever consoles it's available for, so looks like I'll never know for sure... but thanks for supporting my initial conclusions.

I didnt really understand how you could make a western into a game.. but I haven't played it so I dont think it would be right for me to put in my two cents... yet.

I picked this game up and wish I hadn't. The level design is straight out of the original DOOM. The controls are so/so and the graphics okay, but hampered by the crappy level design. The storyline needed a bit of work as well.

I actually liked the guns though.

I know, for its day it was. But this game has absolutely nothing above that and here we are quite few years later.

I would never slam DOOM, I meant it more to say this game was not what I expect in 2004.

The game wasnt terrible though, definitely an interesting premise and worth a rental. I especially found dueling to be a fun part of the game and although short, the whole game is pretty enjoyable.

I wouldnt call this the worst Rockstar game ever because its not really a Rockstar game.
It was originally being developed by.. I think Capcom and I bet they said "Fuck this game, its turning out like shit" and some some strange reason Rockstar bought the rights.

I played the game at a roommates house for a good hour or so, and I wasnt the least bit impressed.
The graphics were shoddy, and the gameplay was extremely dissapointing and repetitive.
Lots of the puzzles and game sequences didnt even make sense.

I think Rockstar's worst game was State of Emergency. Red Dead Revolver is pretty bland itself too.
