arcade monitors
Does anyone know where I can find a cheap (ie < $200) 25" arcade monitors (other than ebay)? I bought a Killer Instinct 2 PCB in a Killer Instinct 1 arcade cabinet for $350 and then the monitor dies. I plan to eventually set it up as a MAME cab but I'd rather have a real arcade monitor instead of a TV. And eventually use an ArcadeVGA card with a J-Pack converter. Here's a pic of the cab:

try your local coinop distrubutor.. they can help you out usually. Lot's of them will be willing to part witha used monitor for a decent price. Congrats on your purchase though, those KI machines are good purchases because they didnt make a lot of them, and aren't really around much. If it's in good shape you have yourself a great collector's item.

for the converter and other controls: http://www.ultimarc.com/ for the software: http://www.mame.net/ Then you have to find the ROMs. BTW, it's not legal to download the ROMs unless you own the games PCB. |

I know this post is kinda dead, but I recently came accross some information while fixing my own cabinet.
The website www.8liners.com has replacement chassis boards for any type of monitor. If the CRT itself is still good you can just replace the board and get it working good as new. I just picked one up myself and paid $65 for it compared to $200-$300 for a new monitor. |
