The most violent game ever?
I'm looking for some good old fashion stress relief after a hard day of serving the public. Can anyone recommend some just out of the park, blood and guts violent games?
|
for what system? GTA3 and VC would be good candidates for the most violent game ever, but might be a little bit more game intensive than what you're wanting. Crimson Land is an awesome little top down shooter that I use occasionaly as my own computer stress ball. There's a great ps2 game that I can't think of that's a fuedal japan type game that involves you mowing down army after army that might work too.
|
Soldier of Fortune II, if it's anywhere near as gory as the first one. Nothing more satisfying than blowing some limbs off with a shotgun, then mangling the corpse with your bowie knife.
Err, I've said too much! |
Specifically for the PC was what I was looking for. I'll check out the Crimson Land, yeah I'm not really looking for something with a whole lot of plot and no puzzle like stuff. Just lots of killing.... mmmmm... sweet killing.
Hmmm... this makes me sound kinda crazy doesn't it? |
The Diablo Games, how can you get any more violent than
killing, literally, 100,000 bad guys in a weeks worth of playing... |
Manhunt, GTA, or Solider of Fortune.
GTA is more open-ended, so if you wanna turn it on and do nothing but what YOU wanna do (kill people, run them over, punch them, etc), then that'd be a good choice. Soldier of Fortune, from the small amount I've played, is like your avg first person shooter, but, like mentioned above, you have the ability to shoot specific limbs off. Manhunt is kinda like a sneak/attack type of game. You sneak your way around levels and walk up behind people. You hit the "Execute" button to kill them with a specific item you have (glass shard, plastic bag, crowbar, to name a few). The longer you hold the execute button down without them noticing you, the more gruesome the death is. There are 3 levels of gore.. 0-1 seconds is the basic death, 2-3 is a moderate death, and anything above is a gruesome death. Another good way to release frustration, IMO, would be an online FPS like Unreal Tournament or Quake 3. Those aren't AS violent as the above games, but.. they do a pretty good job of "I just wanna kill some people." |
SOFII will have you killing tonnes of motherfuckers then give you the ability to mutilate their corpses!
GTA3 and GTA:VC are also violent and are set in a real world kind of place, run people over, beat up hookers, carjack and old lady, blow up the police... I'll be right back... |
I watched a bird's eye view of my character getting crushed between two speeding warthogs on Halo and it was the most realistic violent thing I've ever seen
|
Postal 2 comes to mind when I think meaningless (or disgusting) violence. Probably not a good game, but if you want to massacre "the public" in elaborate ways, it's got that.
|
Soldier of Fortune II is know for its level of gore (and was not sold in many countries for that reason).
Plus it's actually a decent game. I played about three-fourths of the way through it. |
You guys rock. Now time for the fun to begin. Thanks.
|
The first time I played SOFII I knew it was going to be pretty gory... even knowing that and having played virtually every FPS ever made, it still made me cringe the first time I shot an enemy in the stomach and his intestines spilled out into his hands. Man, that was probably the first and only time video game violence affected me like that.

The Max Payne games are my favorite therapy. The slo motion killing of dozens of wise guys is very soothing.
If I'm in a really bad mood I'll turn on god mode and just go crazy with the striker gun... good times, good times |
GTA 3 vice city, probabaly the best relief, just run around and cause mayhem.
|
If you want non-stop shooting action, try Painkiller. No puzzles. No bloody "find key to open door on other side of maze". No sneaking. No stealth.
Rules of the game: 1. If it moves, shoot it. 2. If it doesn't move, shoot it (i.e. crates, barrels). It's like the original Doom/Quake in terms of shooting/killing goodness, but no keys & doors. |
Manhunt. Played in 3rd person view. Weapons include, a wire for strangling people, baseball bat, glass shard, chainsaw, guns, machette, and many more weapons.
Soldier of Fortune is also another, where you can blow off limbs, and guts. |
manhunt
Manhunt should be hardcore brutal .... you should checkt that out too
|
I would recommend Postal 2 just smashing a man with a shovel in the head so his head falls of... and then playing hockey with his head... Damn that a butt load of fun...
|
Manhunt is definately the most grotesquely (word?) violent game ever but it's not fast paced like the others mentioned, there's a lot of sneaking. From what I gather, you just wanna fuck up some motherfuckers, always great fun.
|
GTA wins in my books. The second you finish repeatedly running over someone with your car, you can drive 10 ft and kill some one else. No other game offers as many violent opportunities as GTA.
|
I agree with manhunt. I love killing people with the plastic bags.
|
Shogo! Blood everywhere
|
The Mark of Kri (ps2) was pretty entertaining and gory. Real easy though. The second time I played it, I passed it without dying once.
|
Postal 2 is what you want. Peeing on people, shooting big breasted woman in the boobs is tons of fun.

Postal II, you can piss on people and kill everyone... pretty stupid game but really violent
|
The Mark of Kri wins by far for this type of violence. (Manhunt wins overall, but the game can be too damn frustrating.)
In all these other games you can kill people and such, that's great. In The Mark of Kri you can create a little battle where it's you against 20 guys in this small arena. What's so great about it? Imagine a muscular male Disney cartoon. Now imagine him holding a massive axe. Now imagine him spinning like a tornado and chopping the heads off of 6 guys. Now imagine him doing a combo where he chops a leg off one guy, the arm of another, and the torso of the last guy. That was over 30 seconds. Want to do it again? Go ahead! It's addictive in a sadistic way. I ended up playing for 2 hours straight trying to figure out the most efficient way to mutilate people. By far the best stress releasing portion of any game. Ever. |
Now that I think of it, MK4 was pretty violent, broken bones, fatalities etc.
|
Painkiller looks pretty horrible. I've only played the demo and had no real desire to invest in the full product, but what little I did experience was pretty graphic. I think you can shoot baddies in half.
Horray. |
I dunno if anyone has really played this here, but Madness Interactive is an amazing 2d twitch shooter based on the Madness Flash movies. The game is amazingly addictive and nothing is more satisfying than unecessarily unloading an entire clip from an AK into someone's face after they got a shot off on you. Maybe not realistic gore but still very violent nonetheless. Anyway, I wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone, you can d/l from www.flecko.net.
Oh and its open source so theres lots of Mods. |
JakeDrake84, I just went to that site cuz' that game sounds interesting, but aparently hackers > flecko.net. Too damn bad.
Anyways, Painkiller is definetly a gore-fest, the gun-you-start-with-that-has-infinite-ammo is like a fucking razorblade lawnmower (think dead-alive) and it really does some damage. I havent really seen much as far as the game, I'm only on the 3rd level out of I think 25, but it is gory. I've only seen 1 decapitated head so far, but you can hack the bodies up and blast them till the pop etc. |
Painkiller is the most violent game I ever played, but the game is kinda boring after a hour.
|
Postal
Can we say Napalm + Marching band ? |
I'd have to agree with Postal 2 and by the way where's Lieberman?
|
While I enjoy a good blood feast as much as the next guy, I think the amount of red on the screen is not necessarily proportional to how much steam the game lets you burn off. For me, it's more about being able to exterminate as many enemies in as short a time as possible, with very little resistance. For that, I like Strider 2 (PS) and any of the Metal Slug games. Neither very bloody, but you do get to waste hundreds of guys in a god-like fashion.
|
Postal and Postal2 so you can check out Gary Coleman.
|
Postal 2, GTA series, Carmageddon 1&2, Rise of the Triad, Ninja Gaiden (Xbox).
|
uhm... i just play sof2 multiplayer public :D its fun because you might just get some resistance while blasting away newbs
|
What about the original Mortal Kombats now that was a blood fest
