its no fun unless its HARD

Play Ninja Gaiden then, you'll have tons o' fun, seeing as that game is hard as shit (even on normal).

I wish some games just had hard as an option right off the bat to unlock certain things. Example - Fatal Frame. I didn't want to play that spawn from hell again on hard.... yeah I'm pussy so what?!

Normal. I don't want a cakewalk, but I don't want to spend 4 weeks getting half way through a game... :)

i ususally i start on the game defaults and work my way from there. if i have to choose then i go with normal until it gets too easy and then i bump it up

I usually play on normal first to get a feel for it. Then I switch to difficult.

Always Normal for me.

Normal most of the time. I just played Metal gear solid twin snakes on the hardest difficulty with Game over on discovery, which made it alot easier because the only time you had to fight was during bosses and a few other events.

I've noticed if I start on the hardest setting, and play a while and get stuck(which I usually do.) When I set it down to Normal it's So much easier than it would have been if I had just played on normal to begin with.

On first person shooters and strategy games I will bump the difficulty up my first time around just because I have played so many of those type games but everything else its normal.
