I just saw the trailer Death Jr for PSP. Damn the game look amazing for a handheld. The graphic and effect is almost like the N64.
click on this link to see the trailer. http://www.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/t_deathjr.wmv

AHHHH download speed slowly dropping!!
I can't wait to see this. I didn't know the first PSP game trailer was already out. Hurry the hell up! I have to go to class in 30 minutes! It's going at 15 kbps. *EDIT* Holy hell, I just watched it! That's simply amazing. That's like late N64 or first-gen PS2 graphics. The framerate and image quality are way better than N64. I know why Nintendo is making the Nintendo DS now. If they don't come up with something, then the PSP looks like a market-owner. If the coding and game design kits are easy to work with, the PSP is definitely gonna become a Gameboy competitor. -Lasereth

Saw this last week at 1up, indeed it looks impressive! I'm guessing Death Jr will be one of the crap initial release titles so we can expect a lot more out of the PSP in it's later days... I can't wait for a Ratchet or a Jak on it!!!

I wonder if they will do some ports from PS1 games? That would be awesome to play some FFVII wherever you wanted! Resident Evil 2.......the possibilities are endless
METAL GEAR SOLID!

I caught this at GDC last week and talked with the developer a bit. It was turned around in an amazingly short time period. I think they did a good job with it, but I wasn't blown away, as the PS is supposed to have near PS2 quality graphics (according to Sony), not N64 quality.
It was interesting that Sony chose this to demonstrate footage straight out of the gate. I suspect the AAA titles will be shown in 5.5 weeks at E3. *Those* I can't wait to see.

Umm, this looks like garbage compared to current console games now though. I think if the PSP is going to be as expensive and suck battery power as much as I think it will it better a hell of a lot better. Also, what a lame idea for a game...

That was a damn nice trailer. Good too see what the PSP might very well be capable of.

Battery power? Still a mystery, but with the GBC offering 10 hours, I'd be willing to bet Sony comes in somewhere close. Maybe only 7-8 per charge, but that'll still be a sufficient amount.

Does anyone know what the PSP is going to officially look like yet?
I haven't seen any pics from Sony yet.

well that is only the first trailer. Give the developer a few more months, then they'll probably use more of psp's potential.
I don't really like the psp's look. I was hoping it would look a little bit like the gameboy sp that you can open it. This one looks like its very easy to scratch the screen.

The clamshell design wouldn't work with the "widescreen" look of the device. I just hope they do something about the buttons. Touchpads are all well and good, but if I'm gaming, I want the tactile experience - KNOWING I've pressed the button. I'll bust the touchpads within a few weeks.

Have to say, for something that fits into the palm of my hands, this looks pretty damn good.
My only dought will be the price. No parrent will by a PSP for their kids if it cost 300 USD.

I've read several places that early test version only have 3-5 hour battery life. It will have the same screen and processing power as a Pocket PC handheld and probably a smaller battery and those currently get "maybe" 6 hours continuos use on calender apps. What do you think battery life will be? I'm not saying it won't be good, just that I definitely am not sold by what looks to be a mediocre game trailer at best more worth of 5 years ago than 2004 |
