Anyone else playing Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life?
So, I just can't get enough of this game. I just entered chapter two, after marrying Muffy. I'm wondering, my kid wears blue overalls and has blonde hair. Anyone else marry Celia or Nami? What does your kid look like?

I've actualy been waiting for it to circulate a bit so I can get opinions on it from people who actualy played it. The PS1 version is easily one of my all time favorite games, but the PS2 version sucked beyond suckage.

Well, I never played any of the playstation versions, but I played the N64 and gameboy versions. This HM is very different, as woo'ing your future wife is just a small part of the game. Actually raising your kid right is a much bigger part of the game.
I do still like the game alot! :) |
Its the game fun? I'm still wondering if I should get it or not. I played and liked the snes and n64's harvest moon.

Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life is definetly one of the best, if not the best Harvest Moon game. It only rivals the fun I had with Harvest Moon 64. Although the 1st generation crops aren't great for income, experimenting and creating hybrids is fun.
Now if I could only keep my attention out of HM:AWL and into HM:FoMT so I can get some records because Breeze and the Quiet Winter (Is it called that) got so boring, that I opted to remove the background music (which is a great feature, I rather no background music than the same music in the background always being played) I married Celia and I'm on my 2nd Chapter. My child wears green overalls and has brown hair. |
I married Nami- I like them a little stand-offish. ;) The boy's got red hair, blue eyes, and wears one of those little blue Mickey Mouse-like hats Japanese kids have.
The game owes a lot more of its pedigree to the PS2 version than any other- the farming system and actual gameplay are directly out of that version, albeit with much more variety. The Harvest Sprites and even the text font from that game carry over, too. Although I really like this game, FoMT or BTN are still my favorites in the series. A lot of the new things that make this one seem more realistic also make it a hassle at times, like the fact that your cow quits giving milk 1 year after giving birth, leaving you with a big useless hungry load if you don't plan ahead. Also, the farmer in previous games always woke up at 6 AM no matter when you went to bed- here, he sleeps for six hours. If you run out of things to do and make an early night of it, you'll be up again at 2 AM with limited options (your animals don't appreciate being bothered when they're trying to sleep). There are a few more annoyances I could mention, but that would give the impression that I don't like the game (which I do, greatly :D ) and are probably owed more to my becoming so used to the rules of previous versions. Incidentally, if someone's still in the first chapter, do me a favor? I heard Nami says something off-color if you show her the Brush. Confirm/Deny? |
I have finally made some money! My peach tree is dropping peaches, and if you make the peaches into seeds with the seed maker, that's all kinds of dough for selling the peach seeds. Anyway, just a tidbit from today's playing.
And damn, I thought Nami would have got upset if you showed her your sickle ;) |
Man, I'm so jealous.
I loved Harvest Moon on the playstation, but I don't have a Gamecube. I actually thought about getting one just for this game. |
