Far Cry leaked
This kinda bothers me.... even though the game itself is probably awesomeness in the flesh (or DVD-ROM)
Another game gets released well before its scheduled release date. comments? Do you think this will have a huge hit on the sales?

on sales? not really. if people are gonna pirate, people are gonna pirate.........whether the game is released or not.
the game was quite fun when I played the demo through three times. it does piss me off that games are getting leaked early, however. give the guys a chance, come on.

Pretty impressive, considering it's medium settings and that it runs what can only be assumed as 30+ frames per second. Not too bad, looks pretty good. I've heard that highest settings on Far Cry requires some majorly new shit.

The impression that I got from playing the demo is that it is yet another cookie-cutter FPS. It seemed like I was playing SoF2 again.

I enjoyed it because it was different! How many FPS have you seen that allow you to see the end of the level from the first point you start at? How many FPS have you seen with that much foliage? Prior to Vietnam's release, no game (as far as I'm concerned) had that much trees and plants everywhere. You practically ran right up onto enemies. They didn't see you and you didn't see them. And then there was a FIRE FIGHT! (willem defoe impression) I thought it was pretty fresh for the genre

This game "looks" promising but how is the game play. Looks as every bit as deep as HL2. The depth to this game "looks" incredible. I need to check this out.

This is definitely one of the most immersive FPS's I've ever played. The environment really feels like an actual "character", and is really a part of the game. It's not just background like most games. Gameplay is excellent as well, and it's far more difficult than most FPS's. I highly recommend this if you're looking for a good single player FPS. I haven't played multiplayer though, and have heard mixed reactions on that aspect.

Here in the UK we have both versions don't know about the USA.
On high settings you need a gig of ram no matter what graphics card or processer you run - I was using XP3200+ and a Radeon 9800XT but until I changed 512MB to 1GB the game stuttered.

The game runs fine for me with 768 MB. 1 GB would be nice but it doesn't stutter at ALL with 768

Just finished this one, Jesus Christ that was some amazing shit. I remember feeling bad for spending so much money on my GFX5900 mid last year but this has made it well worth the price. Shit, the game is incredible, the graphics, the nostalgic 80's action movie style and amazing soundtrack (effects and music) just make this a must have game. Gonna go back in and use those Hang-gliders, fuck!! This game rules!!

Deflok, the 1.1 patch to Far Cry will now also let you use Pixel Shaders 2.0 with the GeForce FX cards, which makes for some great texture effects.

this is the best game ive played in a long while.
i was lucky cause i placed a preorder for the dvd but the store ran out of copies before they even filled the preorders. :/ i got mine tho. the ability to hide in the grass and watch as mercs walk 2 feet in front of you as amasing. and i think the creatures are cool apart from the huge ones. its a change of pace. you have to change tactics completely.
