I'm playing the Sixth House Mod right now (it lets you join the sixth house, as the name would imply) with my custom Balrog character. I'm trying to find some more evil things to do (aside from the sixth house quests and killing random people), but there just isn't very much to do around Morrowind that will satisfy my needs! Any suggestions on evil activities to try?

For you people wondering to do with your copious amounts of gold.... train! Your major / minor skills really have no impact on the upper end of the game because all your skills are as high as you want them to be (if you know where the master trainers are).
My level 42 Templar (enabled all the classes that were in the game but not playable) has: Str: 100 Int: 100 Wis: 100 Agil: 96 Speed: 90 End: 100 Personality: 93 Luck: 47 Note that those are only base stats, I'm wearing a lot of the legendary items. If you have lots of the legendary artifacts and have no use for them, and have tribunal, sell them to the museum! Sure, you only get gold, but it's cool to go to the museum and see all the unused items you've collected. Btw if you're using Heavy Armour and want more strength, find the Fists of Randagulf Gauntlets (you'll probably find them while doing the main quest if you keep an eye out), one gives +20 str and the other gives +20 agility.

I figure this is as good of a place as any to post some screenshots of my last adventure into Morrowind. (These are after beating Main Q, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon. All three worth the money imho)
http://www.disp0sable.org/gallery/th...s.php?album=26 I love taking screenshots!

I have a question about skill increasing books:
Since there are several copies of each of these books, can you read every copy to gain several levels in the named skill?

So you can't find 2 copies of 36 Lessons of Vivec 12 and get the skill increase from each, only the first one.

I don't know if I'm being completely stupid about this, but how do you go about using ingredients to make potions with Alchemy?
I have all (4?) of the Alchemist's tools, all of the Master's level. Do I put the stuff in one of them? I'm so confused!!

Yeah, drag the one item onto your body and then it shows the other tools and ingrediants you want to mix.
http://www.uesp.net/morrow/hints/mwalchemy.shtml That is a VERY good site for tips on how to make things.

Yeah, I was never an expert on alchemy. Just boost your INT, find a bunch of ingredients, and make potions for practice. I like to take alchemy as a primary skill if I'm going to use it so that I don't have to train it from the ground up. Having the high quality equipment helps as well, and really isn't all that difficult to steal.
And the master alchemy trainer: Spoiler: Alchemy Master Trainer: Valenvaryon Stronhold, in the Propylon Chamber

I've also heard a lot about how it's hard to raise enchanting. I have it as a major skill (bad choice) but I have no problem raising it. If you have a weapon you like that casts soultrap on strike and azura's star you can raise it quickly by trapping everything and using the gems to recharge enchanted items. I get 14 or 17 points (can't remember) towards skill increase for each gem used. It goes up quickly. I haven't kept track of what I get for actually enchanting something. I also read that you can kill most merchants if you make an exquisite ring enchanted with a constant drain health spell and sell it to them. Ususally they will equip it. Wait for a day and they'll die. |

I guess you can carry too much stuff. I have a ton of scrolls in my inventory, mostly because I never use them and they are light enough not to bother me. But recentlyI have been picking up a few things and noticing that they are not in my inventory anymore.
Has anyone else seen that? I'm on XBox btw.

Have you been arrested by the guards? If you have been arrested and you pay your fine, they will take any stolen items you have. You can find them in the evidence chests in the nearest fort. I have found that sometimes the guards will even take things that I didn't steal and I am on XBox as well.

Fireball + ~88000 magicka + rooftop = revenge on those damn guards.
I finally killed one of the Hlaalu guards that always take away my hard earned stolen goods.

I like spells and I try to use spells as much as I can but I can kill things so much more quickly with a couple of sword hacks than with spells. Maybe I just need to have a few spells made for me that do high damage.
It's also annoying when the enemy throws a spell at you and blows up the spell you just threw at him. I have been having lots of fun with marksmanship lately. It's cool taking out cliff racers when you can barely even see them. |

Hmm Tribunal was much too short for me And Dagoth Ur, to put it simply without giving any spoilers, was a fucking joke. Are you supposed to go kill him at level 20 or something?

I agree about Dagoth Ur.
Spoiler: At least you should have to really kick his ass after you destroy the heart. I accidentally knocked him into the lava before I attacked the heart and barely had to fight him at all. 2 questions 1. I was exploring today and on the island where Ald Redaynia is and near Assumanu there is a cave door that is buried by rocks except for the very top. Does anyone know what it is or if there is anything to it? A quest perhaps? 2. I have Morrowind GOTY for XBox, but I saw the PC version at the store the other day. I have beaten all 3 main quests, finished all the Mage and Fighter's guild, Temple, Morag Tong, House Huallu, Daedric Shrine quests and am currently working on the thieves guild and will probably start either Redoran or Telvanni soon. I have just wandered and found almost every major artifact. I have played as several different characters of varying races and classes. I have essentially scoured the island. I know there are still plenty of secrets for me to find, but I am running out of major goals. I love this game and would really like more. Has anyone here played both? Would it be worth buying the PC version for the chance to play the mods?

I honestly couldnt imagine playing this game on a console, the precision of a mouse for shooting, and the ability to patch and mod out weighs anything a xbox could give. That was a opinion.

Regarding the main quest, I'm at level 34 now and I've only completed the first couple of quests into the main quest. I'm finishing all the guilds and gathering items before I wage my assault in Dagoth Ur. Hopefully by the time I fight him I'll be able to kill him with 1 hit.
Can you buy dwarven darts? I find Deadric Arrows and Deadric Darts but I don't use them because I figure they'd be gone forever after that. |

The only place I have ever found dwarven darts is in Mournhold. Well, actually under Mournhold as a part of the main quest. The good news is that you don't have to buy them, and there is an unlimited supply.

You just have to get them off of the dwemer archer centurions under the plaza. Best be quick, the more they throw at you, the less you can pick up off their bodies.

Recently I was looking for a good weapon to enchant with Vivec's soul for my evil balrog character to use, and all I could think of was a daedric warhammer, which was not quite befitting such a large character. I quickly remedied my situation with a quick journey into the Construction Set -- edited the stats for Stendar's Hammer to make it usable (lower weight, higher condition) and changed the name. Added it to my character via the console, and viola, instant unique weapon perfect for my character! This episode has made me wander into the construction set more frequently, and I may just take up a little bit of actual modding. Oh, and about those arrows -- two ways you could solve the problem. One is to download a mod (forget the name) that gives a 100% chance of recovering the arrows or darts from a body you've shot. The other, although cheating, is to add more arrows to your inventory via the console. To do this, simply drop the arrows on the floor, open your console (press ~), and click on the arrows. When you've done this, something like daedric_arrow should appear at the top of your console. Then enter the following: player->additem "daedric_arrow" X (might not be daedric_arow, but will be something along those lines). X is the quantity of arrows you will add to your inventory. Be warned though: do not get in the habit of adding items via the console. It takes a lot of the fun out of the game. Last edited by saut; 06-08-2004 at 08:15 AM.. |

Ya I've considered the console, but it is cheating. However, the game gets so unbalanced even without cheating that after a while it won't make a difference. I keep on moving the difficulty slider up and now I'm ready for it to go all the way up. It's rare that someone can take more than two hits from Goldbrand. I also got Skullcrusher last night and thats even meaner than all my weapons right now.
The devs should have either made a lot more enemies or made them get tougher with you. It's really rare that I even need to take a health potion. About the only time that happens is when I get hit with a really tough poison spell with long duration and high damage. |

I tried to jump back into the game a while back, but the thrill is gone. Magery is like work, it's mindless to play as a warrior. Hybrid classes are too difficult to train, and are again like work to play. That's my biggest gripe at this point.

I found the GOTY edition for PC at Gamestop the other day. Does anyone know if it includes the construction set? It doesn't say on the box and the guy there didn't know.
