Shogun: Total War

I picked up Shogun: Total War a couple of months ago for $5. Couldn't resist it. I remember how cool I thought the demo was, but found that the game play was more strategic turn based than RTS. And I just wasn't into that then, so I shelved the game for a while. Just got back into it, (putting off buying RoN), and I'm amazed at how quickly I've gotten addicted to the whole Turn Based/RTS thing works.
Would anybody like to share their experiences with this game?

I received this game for the holidays, and for the first 2 weeks i couldn't stop playing it. I love the epic level of the battles. I love that 80 soldiers means there are 80 little men on the battlefield. tho the level of detail on each person isnt there, it doesnt need to be. they look well enough from the overhead view. I like the strategy, although once you figure out how to manipulate the strategy map the game becomes pretty easy. Not a bad thing, but it's like understanding a chess opponent.

Nothing beats having thousands of solders battling it out in real time.

Man, I remember the mongles where really damn tough. All that houseman just slaughtered my crappy sameri.

PS: Rome Total War will be out this year.

I loved this game until I discovered it's fatal flaw.

There is an easy way to win.

If you like Shogun you have to try MEDIEVAL Total War !!!!!!!!
The graphics and details are better, with nice different kind of strongholds etc.
They've taken a big step forward with it.

I have Medieval too and haven't played Shogun since.

I cant wait for Rome: Total War to come out! It looks sooooo good! It will be the 4th game I've bought in the last 6 months (CoD, UT2k4, BF:V, and this if its good) after a short dry spell since Sim City 2000 came out :P
