Gallop Racer 2003...strangely addicting
I just rented Gallop Racer 2003 (PS2) from Gamefly a few days ago for my wife. She likes the horse games so I figured I would surprise her. The thing is, as I was helping her learn to play, I got majorly addicted.
Now we basically have to fight eachother for a turn, and over the weekend we didn't go to bed before 5:00 in the morning. It's somewhat like an RPG. You basically buy and race horses, but its actually really deep. What hooked me was the breeding thing. Once you retire a horse you then have the option to breed it to create your own original horses. I won't go into more detail unless somebody really wants me to. Just trust me on this one, once you get into it it's highly addictive. I just hope to God that I'm not the only guy here thats addicted to a horsey game. |
No way man. I have five words for you.
Derby Owners Club : World Edition Holy cripes I'm addicted to that game. For those that don't know it's a huge arcade game related to breeding and racing horses. It's incredibly deep. People all over the world spend a fortune trying to put together a stable of world record holding horses. I drop some mad cash at my local Dave & Busters on this thing. I'm completely addicted. I haven't tried Gallop Racer, but I'm tempted to. It sounds much like DOC:WE. If so, I'm in trouble. I could spend days in front of that big machine. Here's a link with some info on DOC. http://expertdoc.flex.com/ If anyone out there plays DOC, let me know. I'd love to talk strategy with you guys. It's a thrilling game. |
So people bought these games... interesting.

I know the idea of horse racing in a game sounds crazy, but it works pretty well. You kinda have to be a certain type of person though. |
