GTA Vice City

Hey does anyone know is there an ending in the GTA Vice City or does it just go on and on...
I can't find any missions anymore and just wondering if that was really all.
Purchased all (i think) estates etc.
Is there a -The End- and scrolling credits still coming..
or That's all folks...

Great game Btw, isn't it?

Indeed it's a very good game!

I absolutely love it... plus I finished it, and I can tell you yes there is an ending!

Check in your stats have you purchased 15 properties?
And what was your last mission (your savegame will be called that)

The last mission takes place in your mansion. That's all I can really say. Yes, there is an ending, and it's great. If you haven't seen the ending, then there's more missions to do.

The ending is when you take over the city and eliminate Sonny. That might be a spoiler, but don't tell me you didn't see it coming.

Of course, it lets you play around in the city after you finish. I downloaded an faq and got all the secret packages so I could get the apache. It's worth it if you need to kill some time.

I'm not sure but I heard that you can't complete the game if you used any cheats throughout? Some safety lock to deter people from cheating until they have honestly beat the game.

Yeah there's an ending, but you can beat the game without purchasing all of the real estate, so be sure to check both.

You speak true sai.

I remember reading this just before I started playing VC. I finished the game after completing all the missions, but did not complete all the races nor did I own all the property.

Slightly off-topic, but saves me starting a new thread... I got GTA3 for PC when it came out, but it ran like a dog on my machine. I heard somewhere Vice City worked a lot better... Is that true, and should I be able to run it? If not, I'll have to pick it up for PS2 although that means buying... a PS2.

Specs:

1.4Ghz Athlon
32MB Geforce MX 100
256 MB Ram

that 32 MB GeForce MX certainly won't run Vice City up to par. Well, it depends on what you consider "par." But I'd buy a new videocard before I bought a PS2 if you are only buying the PS2 for Vice City.

It's true, Vice City has a lot more going for it yet it runs 10 times better than GTA3.

Honestly: Go. Buy. It. Now.

You won't be disappointed.

However your videocard isn't too hot.

i wouldn't recommend you buy a ps2 just for Vice City.
either get it on xbox, or upgrade your graphics card and get it on your pc.
i get the feeling that the age of ps2 is coming to an end.

The PS3 is coming out tentatively in 2006 earliest. That's more than two years off. The PS2 is currently the best selling system on the market. I would certainly argue that its age is coming to an end.

What makes you think I've got an Xbox either? I know my graphics card sucks... I have no idea which one to buy, but that's another thread.

Me and a friend are discussing going halves on a PS2 when I move into his flat. I'm no cutting edge gamer, so having the newest and best isn't that big a deal to me. Especially given the way the PS2 now costs about a third of what it did when it came out.

The PS2 was $300 when it came out, it's $200 now. That's 2/3. Sorry, but it's not THAT good of a deal now.

ViceCity ending

Now that I think of it I might have seen a videoclip there at the mansion, was it after the bank robbery... but what mixes me up is that I've done many missons from other locations AFTER that. Now I guess there's nothing left to do (except some bike stunts..)
-snif-
Great game, 'twas.

Is Mafia as good ?

The last story mission is special, and it's clear that it is the last.

The last "story" mission triggers before you actually have done all the property missions (though you don't have to do it right away). Kinda like the way you can do everything in your order.

And yeah, Mafia is good, but less free (mission-wise) than Vice City

you'll know if you beat the game, trust me. if all you remember is a "video clip" at the mansion, then you most likely haven't beat it. at the end of this game, guns are a blazing and a lot of serious shit goes down. very similar to the ending of Scarface (yet no so similar)

The lawyer sets up the whole storyline for you and basically gets you to meet all the players in Vice City.

You may have finished the storylines, but the way to find out if you've done everything is to check your stats. If you are at less than 100%, then you still have things to do. Once you reach 100% there will be various "rewards"

Here is a link to a gaming forum that has a great VC forum:

Great Vice City Forum

Be aware that there are several spoilers on this and not all of them are clearly identified. There are checklists for 100% completion, guides to finding everything, and lots of easter eggs and other secrets.
