Anyone else planning on attending this badboy? www.quakecon.org

I've been to like the last 4 of these, they're damned fun, like 2000 gamers decend on some poor hotel in TX and wreck the place and play games for like 4 or 5 days... it's a damned good time.

I went last year and it was great, got to see Doom3, should have won a damn radeon 9700. I was pretty pissed, I was clearly the first up with the answer this contest but I was passed up for some other guy.
Lots of fun, too bad I can't go this year. Damn it for being so late in summer, I have to head out to college.

Im confused, the link says "quakecon 2003, April 8th..." Did it already happen? Why do you say that it's late in the summer...?

that was an april fools joke, the real QCon2003 will be in August. To go though you need to sign up on their site whenever they put up the signup form, and let me tell you, you get all of about 4 hours to sign up or it will fill up and your ass will be on the waiting list...

I don't think you need to sign up online, I just filled out some form when I got there last year and waited in line for about an hour and got in. If I had wanted to get into the lan or the quake 3 competition I could have gotten in faster as they were pushing those people ahead because not enough signed up for it.

I really should have signed up for the team deathmatch championship and gotten my ass royally kicked, it would have been funny.
