PC Gaming Pads

After responding to a thread about MGS below, I kinda have an itchin to play MG and MG2 on an emulator, but I'm sick of using a keyboard for old nintendo games. I'm plannin on buying a gamepad for my PC, and I was wondering what would be a good cheap choice, solely for emulators and the like. Any suggestions?

I was looking at this...

There are USB adaptors you can buy that let you use your console controllers on your PC. The only one I've tried is the PS2 adaptor and it works great. Even better is that it's a Y connector so you can get 2 PS2 controllers into one USB port.

But I think I actually bought mine through Amazon though I can't seem to find it there now. But try searching places like EB Games or Gamestop.

You can get a Playstation to USB adapter on ebay for about $10 including shipping. Mine works great. I also spliced an old USB cable and soldered it to one of my extra Xbox controllers and now use that for PC games. It works perfectly... rumble and all.

I didn't know that there existed a ps2-usb converter. I should of researched more before I bought my $30(Canadian) gamepad.

The Radioshack PS2-usb converter is very good. I got it for $10. If you don't have ps2 controller, they have Xbox and GC-usb controller too.

I bought a logitech dual analog controller...it does the job.

This thread brought up an idea in my head...PS2 should start sending driver CDs to all PS2 owners that allows the PS2 to recognize PS2 controllers hooked up to USB converters and plugged into the USB port(s?) on the PS2...it would make 4 player gaming a lot easier.

Just wanted to chime in that I also have the Radio Shack adapter and am a very happy camper. It works awesome for Prince of Persia at the moment, and has done well for Madden and many others. I just have never found a pc gamepad that is as good as the PS2 DualShock, or one that has the same feel.
