UT 2k4 Demo.

Has anyone been playing the Demo? I am finding it to be alot better then 2k3.

Also the weapons game is fun to. I am normaly a instantgib person but the weapons seems pretty intense.

Onslaught is a fun idea for 2k4. Althou not new to the FPS world.

I am enjoying it so far.

Any old UTers playing the demo?

Yup, I have been playing UT for quite a while and I am really liking this one a lot, I cant wait for it to come out, get some LAN play goin on. Everything seems so much better, a lot smoother, awesome weapons, probably some awesome skins too.

The thread for it is only about 10 threads down.

http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthr...threadid=45294

The demo is pretty damn cool. The main thing I noticed was how good the music is.

The full game is going to be released on 6 CD's or 2 DVD's, depending on which version you buy. The DVD set is the way to go, but it is more expensive. DVD #1 is the entire game, DVD #2 is Maya and tutorials about making your own levels. It also has videos of the making of UT 2004. The reason the game is so huge is because it contains all of UT 2003, plus 2004. I'm buying the DVD version. 6 cd's? Fark that. I wish more games were offered on DVD. Hell, a DVD player can be had for less than $40 now. I just bought Baldur's Gate 2 with the expansion for $20. It has six cd's, what a pain. And scratch a cd and you are farked. Then again, I remember installing Windows 95 with like 15 floppy discs. lol. Remember, Bill Gates once said that we would never need more than 640Kb of RAM. Lol.

I'll be buying the DVD version even if its 10$ more, 6cds is a waste of time vs 1 dvd.

Dvds are the future. ANd i want that extra dvd of map tools and videos, i love that stuff.

It would be so hilarious if some people just get sick of waiting for HL2 to come out and mod CS2 off the Unreal 2004 engine...oh that would give me such a laugh at Sierra's expence

Runs pretty good on my computer... when I'm the only person in the game. Go out to a server, or set up some bots, and it crawls.

I guess I'll definately need to upgrade before the full version comes out.

From the sounds of it, with 6CDs, going to need to clear out a bunch of hard drive space as well!

Ughie.

They're going to make me buy UT2K3 again? You farkin' dicks, I just bought it last year.

If there is truely no option to buy '04 on it's own I won't be buying it. I'll still get it, but I won't 'buy' it(nudge nudge wink wink).

You won't be able to play it online so it will sorta defeat the purpose of getting a warez copy.

I've been a fan of the UT series since it started. Let me tell you, I like UT2k4 but my very favorite option has to be the ability to pick up two assault rifles, like you could do with the pistol in the original UT. Bad Ass!!!

I have been playing the demo for the past few days and a single thought keeps coming to mind when plaing ONS_Torland. This game is what Halo for the PC should of been.

Damn straight. You'd think that the graphics in Halo for PC would've been improved a little bit, but no, all that porting the game to PC did was increase the framerate. Ah well, you win some, you lose some.

unless I'm completely off base here, 2k4, although including 2k3, is still cheaper than 2k3 was when it was released, so I don't see why people are complaining. also, both places I looked at for online (pre)ordering had NO price diff. between the CD ver. and the DVD ver.

btw, (trying to stay on topic) the demo kicks major ass. it looks like it's gonna be even more fun than 2k3, and I love//d that game
