leisure suite larry

i recently watched an old episode of "Three's Company" with my gf... and Larry the neighbor has an uncanny resemblance to leisure suite larry. The clothes, the jewelry, and even the attitude about chicks. was he a knockoff from the sitcom?

I remember playing the Leisure Suit Larry in Las Vegas demo a million times when I was younger trying to get the girl to strip.

Was there ever any nudity in those games?

They are making a new one I read. Supposed to be his cousin or something. Being "larry"

I played them all and I beat them all, the further in the series the more nudity you saw, the last one made was "love for sail" it was great truly a fun game. I heard they werent making any more of them but this was a year ago and people are known for changing their minds

ok did a little research, It's called "Magna Cum Laude" it features larry in a 3d environment. It's getting bad press because al lowe the creater of larry has been left out of the loop for this game.

nope since he never coprighted larry, sierra bought all rights to him, he was kept on for the previous 6 games as a "liason" so to speak. to quote al lowe

As to the many emails I've received stating, "They can't do this to you" and "It's your character" etc. I'd like to say this: my contract with Sierra was for "work for hire" and all rights to the characters and stories I created remained the property of Sierra. They have the right to do with those characters as they wish.

Al Lowe - January 12, 2004
Today I received a phone call from VU's Eric Hayashi, Executive Producer of the new Larry game. He said that there had been "considerable turnover" of people involved and they were regrouping. He also said they wanted to restart negotiations with me in order to get me involved, possibly as early as next week. Stay tuned to this page.
That's the last bit of info I got from Al Lowe

/me misses them times.

As for your post, I can slightly see what your are saying.. But I havnt seen a episode of that show in years.

I would love to see a new LSL game! If it happens eventually, I'll probably be among the firstto pick it up! (Assuming the reviews/previews I read don't say it's awful!)

yea since it's in 3D it may have a different feel and look to it, it loses some of it's cartoonish appeal, but at least the boobies are in 3d as well
here's a pic i found from the new game

I've been playing the new game for the past hour or two. It's hilarious, so far. A bit tedious at times, but worth it for the jokes and such.

It's okay. I miss the puzzle-solving elements of the original. The dialog is very "Larry", but I suck at the button-mashing. Oh, the PC version is US $20 cheaper
than the console versions.

yup, been playin it for the past couple of nights. Pretty funny, but not like older larry games. It's no real puzzles, just the same few games that are a lot of button mashing.

Are you guys playing on PC I take it? I heard it is coming out on PS2 as well.
Any nudity? Or just "adult themes"?

Actually, nevermind. I just did some quick searches and found this review:

Quote:
Rampant swearing and polygonal nudity is all over the place, as well as more than a fair share of crazy sex scenes, including one that borders on pornographic.
And I guess it is already out on PS2. I wonder if you can rent it?

There is, in fact, a ridiculous amount of nudity. Some of the cutscenes border on porn.

Well, that's good news. I will have to get it on the way home tomorrow.

I heard about this game a few months ago, but somehow I totally missed when the release date was. I though it was November or something.

On a side note, I tried to download the older ones (I had LLL 1-5 when I was a teen) and couldn't get them to work. Oh well, the kinda sucked anyway, but were great for thier time.

The PS2 version, although funny, takes forever to load between scenes. Loading is very frequent, and really hurts the flow of the game. It is funny, but doesn't have the charm the older ones did. This one is not worth it.
